Start menu is centered. Yuck.

Yeah, I'm not a fan of the centered start menu either, however those centered taskbar icons are great.  I've been using a third party tool to do the same thing in Windows for years.

Hopefully they will offer it free like they did windows 10 I'm sure improvements in defender will come as well if that's what they will still call it.

If it is, It is also their chance to remove the free upgrade ability from 7 and 8.

Maybe, after windows 8 goes out of support in 2023 they can just call it Windows. No bloody 10,11,12, or whatever.

If programs like Object Desktop were actually stable on Windows 10 that would be great. On Windows XP it ran almost flawlessly to provide looks like this

Yes, once Windows 11 (or whatever name it becomes) will be ready when they are. This is still about 4 years away.

No one knows for sure, not even Microsoft but that is their plan. Sometime near the end of 2025

I may be wrong so correct me if I am Ron, but I thought I read somewhere that support for W10 ends sometime in 2025 and that W11 may come out in October?? I know guys on Wilders are running 11 already. If I find that article again I will post back here. ( If I wasn't imaging things that is.😝).

So - Official Insider Release about to be tested by me. Do I need to uninstall MalwareBytes or will it function OK?

That's up to you if you decide you want or need to remove Malwarebytes

We do not and have never supported BETA versions of Windows.

You're welcome to install the Beta and test and give feedback on your issue if any and we'll see what we can do if it's not working as we have time.

@shanelord   and anyone else who has Premium ( or Lifetime) license for Malwarebytes.   a tip.

Because the Windows "build / version" number is different.   To prevent a trip-up on licensing, I would suggest you first Deactivate the license in the program GUI  ( best), or else thru MyAccount .... before you do any upgrade onto Windows 11.

After the migration of OS, if all is swell,  then re-activate your  MB license.   Best to be cautious.

As to speculation as to when Win11 might be a "release" to current end-users  ( if they choose it ) , I think I read 2022.   Though new pc's from manufacturers sometime next fall may / would have Win11 pre-installed if it is a release at that time.   Otherwise, new manufaturer hardware would be tagged as "upgrade eligible".

Hopefully those will relax a whole lot before release or for my example, 90% of my current clients will have to buy a replacement compatible computer before 2025

The TPMv2 requirement is the one that seems to be causing the most concern.

Even if the machine has 'on CPU' TPM then it's probably disabled by default and so needs to be enabled in the UEFI.
Is the average home user going to know how to get into the UEFI, (if they even know what UEFI is), or be comfortable going in there to enable it?
(Should be easy money for computer repair shops to 'fix' though).

If you don't have a TPM equivalent on CPU and your Motherboard doesn't support a seperate TPM chip then hard luck.

So seems to be a UI bug in Windows 11 showing (even if you have everything enabled correctly - ie WhyNotWin11 says yes to everything), Device Security after install will state "Standard hardware security not supported" - this happens even on a stock Surface Pro X.

Malwarebytes is running perfectly BTW.

Also - seems Windows 11 UI and OS are decoupled, with the OS already sent as RTM:
