  1. I would run only one of MBAM or Zemana, with either one I would also run an anti-virus, at the very minimum you could run Windows Defender. There are several other free anti-virus as well such as Panda, Avast etc. Or just purchase an anti-virus, your choice, however as I stated, I would not run MBAM with Zemana and I would not rely on either one as the sole protection for my computer.
  2. I've used Ccleaner for years, do a clean up daily and a registry scan maybe 2 or 3 times a week, not once have any issues occurred to my computer following this routine.
  3. Who is charging $100 for cleaning? You can get that done here for free. I know, there is no easy solution, you have to try to protect both the computer novice and computer expert at the same time. Glad I'm not the one who has to try to figure out how to do this.
  4. First question, are you running the latest version? Version 3.0.6.1469 Component package 1.0.75. This version did correct this issue for a lot of people.
  5. The easier it is to allow the easier it is for users to screw up., many user just click click click without thinking. Thats why HIPS are not very good for most users because they don't know what to allow or not to allow. Best software is idiot proof.
  6. Just a comment. Yesterday after the latest batch of updates for W10 the Malware Protection shut off and I could not turn it on. Exiting MBAM and restarting the program fixed it, all is good now. I am using the latest version.
  7. I agree with Pondus on this one, if your running real time protection why do you need to do scans? I do a manual scan maybe once a month and haven't been infected for years other than the occasional PUP.
  8. Sure, I see component package has been changed in the past 24 hours, from 1.0.69 to 1.0.75. Any problems I'll let you know.
  9. FYI I installed the beta version of 1469 yesterday over top of the previous version, Malware Protection would not turn on. Had to uninstall and re-install for it to work. Seems to be ok now.
  10. Absolutely, just deactivate your license on version 2 first, uninstall it, install version 3 and enter your license details.
  11. Usually I install over top. Was just wondering if it was required for 3.06 or not. thanks.
  12. I assume you did a clean install? I also assume that a clean install is not necessary?
  13. You are correct Francois, I seem to remember that the move from version 1 to version 2 also had a lot of issues. I may be wrong but I think it took about a month for all the kinks in version 2 to be ironed out. I have no doubt that version 3 will prove to be another superb program eventually, just not sure how long it will take. Some people are too impatient.
  14. Go to " Reports" check the box next to the last "Scan Report" and then click " View Report". Should show you what was detected.
  15. MBAE is not defunct, it is now considered a perpetual beta, which means it will be used for testing purposes for features to be included into MBAM 3, anyone can still use it. Your MBAE license can be transferred to a MBAM license if you like. I run Emsisoft Anti Malware and MBAM 3 with no problems. You are using 2 anti-virus programs, Webroot and EIS, Emsisoft recommends not running it with another anti-virus now. I would uninstall one of them to avoid possible future conflicts. I don't believe they have an uninstall tool for MBAM 3 yet but are working on it.
  16. IamnotGroot, you are running 2 anti-virus programs, EAM and Mcafee. Emsisoft Anti Malware is considered an anti-virus solution and they recommend not to run with another anti-virus program now. I run EAM and MBAM 3 no problems. If I were you I would ditch McAfee as EAM is all you really need, maybe fix your issues as well. Your computer, your choice.
  17. hayc59, were you prompted for a re-start after installing 3.0.5? I installed 3.0.5 overtop of 3.0.4 and was prompted for one. After restart I had to update definitions, everything seems ok so far.
  18. Correct me if I'm wrong but I seem to remember the last time I used JRT that it does not give the user any choices as to what to remove, anything detected is remove automatically. So if this is the case then I would think its imperative that a restore point is made first in the case any false positives are detected. Giving the user that choice could result in some borked machines if something was deleted that shouldn't be and no restore point was made.
  19. Its only done it a couple times in the 3 years or so I've been using Lastpass, both times were in the last 6 months or so.
  20. I use both as well, occasionally when Chrome updates Lastpass will stop working on my machine. Easy fix is remove Lastpass and install it again.
  21. If you have the free version of MBAM it is an on-demand scanner only, it won't monitor anything in real time. If want real time protection you need the paid version of MBAM. If you want to add another excellent free protection software you could try Malwarebytes Anti-Exploit, it will protect your browsers from exploits in real time. I agree with Pondus about dumping Spybot.
