  2. Internet Explorer flaw leaves Windows users vulnerable to hackers -- even those who don't use the browser A zero-day exploit found in Internet Explorer means hackers could steal files from Windows users. What's particularly interesting about this security flaw is that you don't even need to be an Internet Explorer user to be vulnerable. A security researcher has revealed details of an unpatched exploit in the way IE handles MHT files, and the problem affects Windows 7, Windows 10 and Windows Server 2012 R2. It leaves users vulnerable not only to having their files stolen by hackers, but also means they could be spied upon. 3. Thanks for the additional info, can you please provide a screen shot of the popup you are seeing, as well as the logs mentioned in post #2 above? Thanks
  4. Simple close the summary report by clicking on Close X on the top right of that windows...
  5. Hello and Welcome Its possible this are being caused by a scheduled scan you have setup. Either way you can turn off those notifications.
  6. At times some of my MB notifications get caught as spam in Outlook 365 (usually if you guys make a change on how they get sent out)
  7. If your worried you may be infected you need to follow the instructions provide by @exile360 above #3 and someone can check your computer and ensure you that you are clean. Its all done for free.
  8. Not only that, once you call that number, they have your number. If you hang up or tell them your not interested, they will keep calling back and escalating their scams to get you to bite. Also they have been known to sell your phone number to others.
  9. Honestly, these days with the amount of RAM and processors/cores on computers these days, I think it using 120~250 MB ram is nothing... heck if you look at most peoples task manager you will see the biggest memory hogs are usually a browser such as IE, Firefox, Chrome etc. with multiple tabs open. I know there are some that still have older computers, but even then I would rather have the protection and be safe than having a few extra MB of ram available.
  10. This is a very true statement... just yesterday I scan a computer that had MB2 and every time the user opened up the Chrome browser they would immediately get Block notifications from MB2 in the system tray. Scanning with v2 yielded no results. I asked the user why they were not using MB3 and they stated they did not even know there was a new version. So I upgraded them to MB3 and then performed a scan. Low and behold, found 89 items. Performed a clean, reboot and all is well now, so having the latest version is always the best course for scans to be fully effective.
  11. No argument there, Malwarebytes is usually pretty quick at finding such bugs and then release updates to fix them, that is as M$ makes changes to the OS. Most bugs do not affect everyone, it all depends on the users configuration and what other software they may have installed.
  12. AFAIK there is are no different effects on the version of Windows 10 as per the software requirements on the main page. Software requirements Windows 10 (32/64-bit) Windows 8.1 (32/64-bit) Windows 8 (32/64-bit) Windows 7 (32/64-bit) Windows Vista (Service Pack 1 or later, 32/64-bit)* Windows XP (Service Pack 3 or later, 32-bit only)* Active Internet connection
  13. His logs clearly show which OS the OP is using... Microsoft Windows Information ================================== Product Name: Windows 10 Home Architecture: x64 Current Build: 17763 Release ID: 1809
  14. This sort of attack is not only tied to MS Browsers... it can happen with any browser, as they all have vulnerabilities.. If they didn't then they would not be releasing new versions.

  16. All great info that @David H. Lipman provided above. I used to create such banners myself, however I used Microsoft Publisher which had a banner template. If you have that software installed with your version of office that you have installed.
  17. MS-ISAC Releases Security Primer on LockerGoga Ransomware The Multi-State Information Sharing & Analysis Center (MS-ISAC) has released a Security Primer on LockerGoga Ransomware—a type of malicious software, or malware, designed to deny access to a computer system or data until a ransom is paid. Ransomware can be devastating to an individual or an organization. The Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) discourages individuals and organizations from paying the ransom, as this does not guarantee access will be restored. CISA encourages users and administrators to review MS-ISAC’s White Paper: Security Primer – LockerGoga and associated indicators of compromise (IOCs), CISA’s Ransomware page, and the U.S. Government’s Interagency Joint Guidance for further information and to implement the following best practices: Create system back-ups. Be wary of opening emails and attachments from unknown or unverified senders. Ensure that systems are updated with the latest patches. 18. I am quite certain that modifying any code or components of Malwarebytes is against the EULA.
  19. @Amaroq_Starwind you may want to heed your own advice as far as the guidelines are concerned, please stop being rude to the members....
  20. Hello and Welcome! Are you aware that you can just exclude Kodi from Malwarebytes and you would not have any issues using it? Simply go to Settings -> Exclusions -> Add Exclusion -> Exclude an Applications that Connects to the Internet and browse to the Kodi executable.
  21. Hello and Welcome @triggar I am assuming you installed Malwarebytes 3 consumer version on that 2012 R2 Server, if that is the case then it is not supported to run on any server OS as per the main website Software requirements Windows 10 (32/64-bit) Windows 8.1 (32/64-bit) Windows 8 (32/64-bit) Windows 7 (32/64-bit) Windows Vista (Service Pack 1 or later, 32/64-bit)* Windows XP (Service Pack 3 or later, 32-bit only)* Active Internet connection That being said, your best option would be to contact the business section and they could direct you to the best solution using Malwarebytes Endpoint Protection going forward. https://forums.malwarebytes.com/forum/228-malwarebytes-endpoint-protection/
  22. Not saying it won't run, however see below, straight from the main site, running MB3 on a server is not supported, so it should not be suggested... Software requirements Windows 10 (32/64-bit) Windows 8.1 (32/64-bit) Windows 8 (32/64-bit) Windows 7 (32/64-bit) Windows Vista (Service Pack 1 or later, 32/64-bit)* Windows XP (Service Pack 3 or later, 32-bit only)* Active Internet connection
  23. Thanks Ron for the update... here is an update I found as well https://www.us-cert.gov/ncas/current-activity/2019/03/26/ASUS-Releases-Security-Update-Live-Update-Software
