  1. Just wanted to know if we, MacOs users, are protected against CloudMensis with Malwarebytes? Thanks in advance
  2. I just ran a Full Scan (including every scan feature) on my PC with Malwarebytes and it took over 5 hours, which sounds like quite a long time. Total File size 1.3TB split on 2 SSD's and 1HDD, with around scanned 630.000 files. I'd like to ask if this kind of performance is fine and expected. The time spend on scanning sounds like a lot of time but then again, 1.3TB of files and 630.000 files scanned.. Core i5-9600, 32Gb RAM, Windows 10. PC was mostly idle most of the time, with only a video stream on screen.
  3. if i uninstall malwarebytes and reinstall do i still have access to trial
  4. Downloaded a bad torrent with Malware, Run the .exe installer inside the file, installation was unsuccessful as MSCVR100.DLL/MSVCP140.DLL/d3dx9_43 was missing realized the file and installer was bad, Windows Defender picks up Trojan:Win32/CryptInject and Trojan:Win32/CryptInject.PW!MTB deleted installer file and did a full scan and offline scan on Windows Defender, everything appears to be healthy PC have no lag issue, no adware is popping up, but suspected crypto-mining malware Using Malwarebytes Premium Trial 4.3.0 to do a full scan, with all the checklist enable and on both my HDD and SSD Malwarebytes runs for 5~6 hours, then crashes, PC freezes up, can only force shutdown Tried running Malwarebytes full scan on both online and offline, crashes and freeze both times Tried to place a few files under Windows Defender's ransomware protected files Starts to get protected memory access blocked by CorsairLink4.Service.exe, protected folder location is suspicious Personal Deduction: Suspected malware masked itself as other application, and possible stopping Malwarebytes from making full scans I have included the FRST and Addition for your reference. Please have a look, thank you FRST.txt Addition.txt
  5. I'm using a software called totalAV (premium) and i would like to disable malwarebytes auto quarantining this app
  6. Okay i have a question: Why are there two installers?. If you download the installer (free) from the official website it would come up with this name: MBSetup-0009996.0009996-consumer but I have seen in some answers sent by the support where you download one called MBSetup.exe. Why does this happen? Also, is there a difference?
  7. I have 2 csrss processes running under SYSTEM on my windows 10 laptop. When i click "open file location", it shows that both processes are from the same csrss file in the System32 folder. I only have one user account on this laptop so there can't be another for another user. When i click properties on either one, theyre the same properties window and it doesn't let me open both at the same time so it's saying they're the exact same process. The information on the properties window is as follows: Application (.exe) Client Server Runtime Process C:\Windows\System32 17.3 KB Size 12.0 KB Size on disk Created and modified both on Tuesday, ‎March ‎19, ‎2019, ‏‎12:44:35 AM Accessed Sunday, ‎June ‎21, ‎2020, ‏‎3:11:50 PM Is this a possible infection? Do i have any kind of malware or trojan on my computer? Here's a screenshot of the processes in task manager: https://imgur.com/YufTYJR
  8. I turned the computer off so that I could get cleaned up and dressed. that took about 30 minutes. when I turned the computer back on, I wanted to run a scan with Malwarebytes. I bring it up and find that Malwarebytes in already scanning the computer. It has gotten through to scanning files and has been scanning for 50 minutes. The question is: was the scan running while the computer was turned off? Is that possible?
  9. Someone just told me a file I just downloaded was a cookie logger, I couldn't find anything that says how these work. I never did run the program, but I still want to know if it could have infected my computer! Please help, even if cookie loggers are fine, answer the question anyway. They showed me pictures of things the logger did, so I believe that they can actually do something.
  10. I often download a lot of .rar files and I scan them and the scan ends quick which makes me think its not scanning inside? Can it do this or do I have to extract first?
  11. Google Chrome keeps opening a second process of itself without a window (there's only the window I have open). If I look in Task Manager, the website on it is things like "Crusty (Insert words)", Facebook login, and about:blank. The second process doesn't close when I close Google Chrome and it reopens itself if I close it even if the other Google Chrome isn't open. I have background sync off and it uses the same file as the Google Chrome process that DOES open a window. I need to know how to get rid of it without removing Google Chrome entirely (yes, I tried reinstalling Google Chrome, it didn't work).
  12. Could we ever expect to see a VPN service from MalwareBytes as an included or seperate service? Yes, there are hundreds of VPN services out there already but a lot of those are by companies that a lot of us may have never heard of. When someone wants to use a VPN, they're expecting to use it for their privacy and the companies that run a lot of VPNs, as I already said, pretty much aren't reputable. I'm sure their users wonder if the service provider is stealing or logging their information without their knowledge and possibly making a profit by selling that information. I'd think seeing a VPN service from Malwarebytes, one of the most recognizable names in computer protection, would yield great results from both sides. If the service was built into MBAM, we also wouldn't need an extra program taking up space on our HDs and would be pretty convenient for current users that do use VPN services. Just an idea, not sure if someone made a thread on this topic already but I checked 2 pages back and found nothing. Also did a broad search on the forums but only found threads where their VPN was having issues working correctly with MBAM running. Edit: I just noticed I may have posted this in the wrong place. I saw the "Malwarebytes Tools Comments and Suggestions" and "Malwarebytes Business Products Comments and Suggestions" forum pages after posting this.
  13. Hello, So I was wondering if it was at all possible with any program or anyway to either add security definitions from another virus protection program to make like an ultimate protection system so i can use less cpu so like say if i just downloaded like avast superantispyware and malewarebytes got the security definition files and moved them into like windows defender or some other antivirus/spyware/malware program it would also use those definitions to search and defend my computer plus whatever definitions it already includes
  14. Does Malwarebytes have to be removed to install Malwarebytes Anti-Ransomware? I have worked with computer security for more than 40 years and have told many of my friends to use security software.
  15. Hey there, I recently downloaded Malwarebytes 3.0 for Windows 7, 64 bit. When going through a full scan, it cannot get past certain files in the checking through files phase, before heuristics. I have tried restarting my computer, and reinstalling the program. Neither has worked. Can someone help please, thank you.
  16. Hi. I was just wondering if I schedule an automatic threat scan at 12AM midnight, on Malwarebytes Anti-Malware Home, will my PC automatically turn on to do the threat scan or do i have to manually turn on my PC before 12AM? Also if the PC doesn't automatically turn on at 12AM is there a way to schedule my pc to turn on at before 12AM so it can scan at 12AM?

  18. I didn't click on it obviously, but wondered what the heck is going on, and what this even is. I was able to capture one of the messages, but they were EXACTLY the same. If anyone wants to analyze the file it would download to the PC, here's the link: http://bestscreen.biz/files/screenshot_200614.jpg[code/]
  19. Just ran a Malwarebytes scan and it detected these two files. Before I quarantine these two I thought I'd ask your opinion. Both are Firefox files, and the last I quarantined something like them I lost all my Firefox customizations. Do these two look suspicious to you? Files: 2 PUP.Optional.Trovi.A, C:\Users\John C Sproul\AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\9724fpi9.default\prefs.js, Good: (), Bad: (user_pref("browser.startup.homepage", "http://www.trovi.com/?gd=&ctid=CT3322288&octid=EB_ORIGINAL_CTID&ISID=MDB29B4D8-31C9-4A7F-B708-29D463BD9CF6&SearchSource=55&CUI=&UM=8&UP=SPF37A687E-26F8-4C4B-B237-8C94774EA859&SSPV="), ,[7d8822fa583280b679355c967f869c64] PUP.Optional.Trovi.A, C:\Users\John C Sproul\AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\9724fpi9.default\prefs.js, Good: (), Bad: (user_pref("browser.newtab.url", "http://www.trovi.com/?gd=&ctid=CT3322288&octid=EB_ORIGINAL_CTID&ISID=MDB29B4D8-31C9-4A7F-B708-29D463BD9CF6&SearchSource=69&CUI=&SSPV=&Lay=1&UM=8&UP=SPF37A687E-26F8-4C4B-B237-8C94774EA859"), ,[45c0120aaae0c96dd3dceb0795701ce4] If these are both OK, if I check "Ignore" on the results page, will that prevent them from showing up on future scans?
  20. I first learned of MBAM after I fell for the fake Adobe Flash Player download and my computer support tech suggested MBAM to help in the cleanup. MBAM found 20-30 items. On restart (almost immediately after shutdown) my computer totally froze up (even Cntrl-Alt-Del wouldn't work). Finally had to kill the power to turn it off. This time I waited 10 minutes before starting back up, and this time it worked fine. Still continues to be its old self. Why the freeze up? The only thing I can think is the immediate restart vs. waiting 10 minutes.
  21. Is "Driver Support" considered malware? I would feel a lot better about this if it came from a trusted source (like C-Net), but this was downloaded to my computer without my request when I fell for the fake Adobe Flash Player download
  22. Is Optimizer Pro considered malware or just an annoying ad?
  23. So, I made this account just now so I could post this and hopefully get an answer. Mind telling me why Malware-Bytes is getting picked up as a virus? Now don't get me wrong, I'm gonna go ahead and guess it is a false positive; considering it is being said by something I have never heard of in my life. But I am generally a paranoid person and something like this, kinda screws with me. So mind giving some insight?
  24. Just curious what you guys think of the new UI if you're using the premium version. Personally I don't really like it looks wise very much, It made me panic a little bit because it looked so different than what it used to (AHH! I JUST UPDATED BUT WHAT IS THIS?) As such, I don't particularly like the way it looks. Kind of clunky looking and made me a little nervous, Maybe it's just me but I prefer an AV program to just have a more plain design.Without the bells and whistles (I kind of like Spybot S&D's design. Just the basics with fun info on the type of detection found.) Just wondering what other people think of it. Personally I wish they'd have a simple layout design option for people that don't like the bells and whistles, but that's just me. P.S Hi.~ I just joined today. Nice to meet you all Here's what it looks like, in case it looks different in the basic version... . ~Lorena.
  25. Stupid question, but I want to make sure I do this right. I have a Windows Vista computer and I would like to know what format my 32GB USB flash drive needs to be so I can copy some files onto it (Which I hope is the same as backing up). I tried searching on Google but all I could find was how to install WIndows from a flash drive onto a computer... Thank you.
