  1. I recently visited a site call scamadviser.com and have not a legit site. Some of what I have found propose it may just be a site that acts like what is says. Others say it gives you malware some say it's ok. I have ran a scan manually (twice) and have come up clean. I am ok?
  2. Just showed up on a scan. Haven't downloaded anything new or anything. Super weirded out by the 6 finds though. Exported the scan info below, would love opinions and help on what to do next. Potentially having malware on my PC freaks me out. 3. About a week ago I had some performance issues on my laptop,so I scaned with malwarebytes and I found adware in the registry so I quarantined it and deleted it. I restarted my laptop and I scaned again and it returned, for a week I (used adwcleaner)(scaned multiple times)(reinstaled Internet explorer)(used avast)(asked my friend for a solution)(filled my search history trying to find a solution)(had a mental breakdown). Can anyone help me please?
  4. I can't download the most recent version of malwarebytes (nor can it access the internet), can't redeem my premium malwarebytes code, nor properly access windows defender. I believe that my laptop is infected with a virus but I can't detect it, I would greatly appreciate help. FRST.txt Addition.txt threat_scan.txt
  5. Hello, I need some expertise on something that I suspect is malware. I noticed a strange gif on my desktop yesterday. The name of it was "blank" and without opening it up it looked like it was of a small 1x1 pink pixel. When I opened it up it looked like it didn't display anything, and I could see that the full name of it was "blank.gif". I did not download anything like this, and it just seemed to appear out of nowhere. I checked the gif on virus total and it said it was safe. I still deleted the file after that just incase. After deleting it, I ran both the Malwarebytes scan and the def
  6. Hi all, I've been in quite the pickle. Yesterday morning I got a mcAfee notification pop up that said "we've scanned your download and it's safe!" or similar, and this was "rundll32.exe" now, I know this is a system file and I had not downloaded anything while this occured, I wish I had taken a screenshot. To be safe I did a lot of different processes. First, I did a scannow on system32, all clear, nothing unusual there, I did a Mcafee full scan and it detected nothing, and Malwarebytes did not either. When I tried Windows Safety Scanner, this baffled me- it found 5 infected files on my e
  7. So I am trying to set-up a Proxy server using Malwarebytes. I have entered what I think is the right address and Port but now it needs a Username and Password but I am not sure what username and password it wants. Is it for my pc or my Malwarebytes accounts? Any help would be appreciated! Thanks
  8. As the title suggests, I turned on my PC this morning and was greeted 9 event notifications until I disabled NordVPN over the course of 4minutes. I've attached the 1st event report below but am happy to upload the other 8 too if needed. Should I be concerned or is this a false-positive? MWB report on NordVPN_1_210121.txt
  9. Hello. Scans from malwarebytes reveal 2 threats. Both named " hku\s-1-5-21 " followed by a string of numbers. The first one ends with "display name " and it is a registry value and the other one ends in a "B" and its a registry key. Also both reference Microsoft internet explorer in their names. From what ive read those are malicious items but i cant fine a way online to delete them. Any help or feedback would be appreciated! (Ill provide pictures of the full names bellow)

  13. Hello I am in need of help, I did something not smart and downloaded and ran something I probably should not have. I realized my mistake (hopefully) before anything too bad was transferred or installed and unplugged my computer to hard reset it. I dow nloaded malwarebytes immediately and cleaned a bunch of malicious programs off my computer and everything was fine, until a few days later when I ran a scan again. Now almost every time I run a scan whether or not I have restarted, malwarebytes finds and flags a file in c:\users\Logan\AppData\Local\Microsoft\spoolsvc.exe, a file I hav
  14. I use Malwarebytes premium, and it claims it's running since it says real time protection is on, however when I do "Open Malwarebytes" it refuses to show it, however the application itself is running and clearly working in real time protection, I am too afraid to reinstall it since I may lose access to the premium subscription by reinstalling, so i'm not sure what to do in this scenario
  15. I have scanned my PC multiple times and each time malwarebytes detects PUPs among the chrome files, I quarantine them, chrome stops working and I need to restart chrome again to be able to access internet again. I searched up some answers and most of them say that I need to reset sync so because google sync is restoring those quarantined files. But the problem is that I have a lot of bookmarks and passwords saved too and I dont want to lose them. Is there any way I can stop google from restoring those files while still being able to keep the passwords and bookmarks?
  16. Right now, I am using a combination of ublock origins and privacy badger as protection and they are working perfectly fine. I also have malwarebytes free version installed on my pc where i generally do atleast one scan daily. I just found out about this malwarebytes extension and it seems to include functionalities of both of these. Is it sufficient alone? Will it add any extra protection if I install it over my existing extensions? Will it counteract any of them? plz help
  17. I'm at my wits end, I downloaded a game trainer from a source I thought was reputable, but after launching it my system went haywire. I had a bunch of malware infect chrome, and even hijack my ethernet port and caused the "unidentified network" thing to happen. I've ran Kaspersky, bitdefender, Malwarebytes, Zemana, and tried reinstalling windows, but nothing seems to work. Zemana and Malwarebytes found a bunch of malware and cleaned it, but it seems to still be hiding in my system, even though all scans show clean... My CPU usage is high (about 30-50% on Ryzen 9 3900x 12 core) when I firs
  18. Hi, my name is Nicole and this is really my last resort... I've just spent 20 hours between using a bootable av (which corrupted my windows installation), reinstalling windows, and getting the same problem again, after getting multiple alerts of a VBInjector tampering with the executables of programs on my computer. I've tried running rkill, then adwkiller, roguekiller then hitman pro, but none of them detected anything (and MWB was useless aswell). This virus has even infected the executable of the program I use to work and I had to reinstall the program, which set me back quite a bit...
  19. Good morning everyone, I'm new in this forum, I really hope you can help me. Yesterday I've find something strange in the behaviour of the PC: Windows Defender doesn't find any problem but when I open its history it crashes. I've find the name of the maleware before the last crash (Trojan:PowerShell/Mountsi.A!ml). Running MalwareBytes I've found some malewares so I eliminate them but the problem is still there! Thanks.
  20. Recently, while going about my normal browsing and communicating with a friend through hangouts. Images sent by my friend and profile pictures were crossed out. I attempted uninstalling and reinstalling as this has never happened before but it still happened regardless. I found that it was blocking and element from google itself. I am able to unblock these elements but that does not seem like a proper solution. Any chance somebody could inform me as to why this suddenly changed?
  21. Hello! I am on my Mac and I am reviewing the installations on System Info and I see two dates that call my attention, on May 4 2020 and April 13 2020, I didn't installed Malwarebytes on those dates and it's reported as if I had when I didn't. I first installed Malwarebytes on March 12, 2020 and on May 18, 2020 but not on this previously mentioned dates. Why is it reported this way?
  22. We often recommend Malwarebytes to our customers and I don't recall there being a false positive with GlassWire/Malwarebytes in the past. Unfortunately now we are receiving complaints about a false positive and we need your assistance please. You can download our installer from here https://www.glasswire.com/download/. The false positive screenshot is attached. Thank you for your assistance. -Log Details- Scan Date: 6/11/20 Scan Time: 8:52 AM Log File: 65a7c437-abe2-11ea-a534-201a06b471c5.json -Software Information- Version: 4.1.0.56 Co
  23. After launching game it crashed, after I tried to delete the folder it was open in another application. Using Process Explorer I found that it opened a schtask.exe. I looked in Task Scheduler and found a GoogleUpdateTaskMachineUAC that hasn't run yet, but it was linked to a file in Roaming/d_temp/sevices.exe with the game's logo. The game was scanned by ESET nod32 before I ran it. Malwarebytes free didn't detect anything neither did the Rootkit protection or the windows security.
