Web Protection Will not stay on

Recommended Posts

I am running Malwarebytes Premium

          Version 3.31.2183

          Pack version 1.0.262

          Upgrade Pack 1.03797

I too keep getting the warning Web Protection is Turned off although the other protections are shown as working.  When I attempt to turn on Web Protection, it reverts to off almost instantaneously.  Since I am already running 1.0.262,I presuming the advice given to Sorbe (December 21, 2017) does not apply.  Can you please help?

If you haven't done so already, please run these two tools and then attach the logs in your next reply:

NOTE: The tools and the information obtained is safe and not harmful to your privacy or your computer, please allow the programs to run if blocked by your system.

  • Farbar Recovery Scan Tool (FRST)
    1. Download FRST and save it to your desktop
Note: You need to run the version compatible with your system. You can check here if you're not sure if your computer is 32-bit or 64-bit
    2. Double-click to run FRST and when the tool opens click "Yes" to the disclaimer
    3. Press the "Scan" button
    4. This will produce two files in the same location (directory) as FRST: FRST.txt and Addition.txt
      • Leave the log files in the current location, they will be automatically collected by mb-check once you complete the next set of instructions
  • MB-Check
    1. Download MB-Check and save to your desktop
    2. Double-click to run MB-Check and within a few second the command window will open, press "Enter" to accept the EULA then click "OK"
    3. This will produce one log file on your desktop: mb-check-results.zip
      • This file will include the FRST logs generated from the previous set of instructions
      • Attach this file to your forum post by clicking on the "Drag files here to attach, or choose files..." or simply drag the file to the attachment area

Regged an account just to see what was up with this issue and seems I'm not the only one suffering.

Started sometime during the day as it was running fine this morning, now Real-Time protection keeps turning itself off and won't restart.

Give up hope and swap to a better anti malware platform. I've been using this software for over two years, and in the last year alone the protection turning itself off and refusing to start again issue has plagued multiple versions and everytime staff go to "help" they collect logs and tell the person to reinstall the program or use their mb-clean program to clean it, they dont actually do anything to fix the issue as they are too inexperienced or lazy, or maybe both.

There is no fix and im getting pretty pissed off that it KEEPS HAPPENING, why am i paying for subpar garbage that cant even be patched and fixed within a 12 month god damn window its a bit of a piss take if you ask me tbh.

I am having same issue, posted here -

This happened after I had a weird crash, unlike any I've experienced before and when my router mysteriously reset itself, something else I have never experienced, it feels to me like I was subjected to some kind of online attack, perhaps an attempt to weaken my PC's defences in preparation for another attack, these things are not unheard of.
