  1. Roger dat, thanks for the detailed explanation
  2. Please let us know if that corrects the issue. I would reboot the computer after the update even though it may have not asked for a reboot so you can start with a clean slate.
  3. More than likely yes, I can not confirm that entirely without reviewing logs from the computer in question. But the most current version has bug fixes so it will most likely correct the issue your having. If it does not then we will need to collect logs from your computer to see if anything else may be going on. Go Ahead and update.
  4. Just got updated to this version... I may be jumping the gun here, but what is included in this version?
  5. That is an older version, go ahead and update to the latest version as announced here, hopefully that will correct your issue.
  6. Those topics are from 2015, I am sure a lot has changed since then...

  9. I would try updating to Malwarebytes 4, it has a better engine for detecting Malware. Once you upgrade, make sure to enable the scan for rootkits before performing your first scan with it. See if that helps.
  10. Yes Sir... I got all that, I was just sharing is all... LOL
  11. Thanks @LiquidTension for the info, I actually checked on another computer I use at home for capturing my camera feeds, and it actually had 3 ghost icons on it. Of course they all went away when I hovered over the.
  12. I have MB4 latest version installed with Beta option enabled. On all my Win10 workstations, when they roll out a new CU update that gets installed, its installing in the background with no confirmation from me (that's probably the way its suppose to work). I always know when there has been a new version installed because I always get two MB icons in the system tray like in the image below. Once is a "ghost" icon because once I hover the mouse over it, it disappears. (the one with the red triangle is the one that disappears). Its more of a nuisance than anything else.
  13. I may try your link as well @Maurice Naggar I have ran check for updates several times (it actually installed some today) but my version number is still Build 18362.592
  14. This may have been answered already, as of right now there is no Linux version of Malwarebytes. That's not to say that at one time they may develop one.
  15. I have it installed on at least 20 Surface Pro 4 computer and have no issues using MB4. The second AV I have installed along side MB4 is Symantec Endpoint Protection. I have not read your entire thread or looked at your log files, I was just simply answering your question is all.
  16. Hello and Welcome to Malwarebytes... That is really a loaded question. Having Malwarebytes and another AV will help with keeping infections from entering your computer. As far as being sufficient, well the only way to be fully protected on needs to have a fully patched computer.

  18. Just a note, the scan engine is different than in version 3 so it is quite possible it will pick up some things that version 3 may not.
  19. Your quite Welcome @jet glad we could help solve your issue.
  20. Another thing you will have to do is enable UAC settings back to default. Malwarebytes as well as many other programs rely on these settings. Yours are set to OFF. UAC Settings ================================== EnableLUA: Off Consent Prompt Behavior Admin: Off
  21. Great that you found what you needed. You can use your copy of Malwarebytes on any OS that it is supported on. You would have to deactivate it on one device and install and activated on the new supported device. Windows 10 is one of the supported OS's
  22. Your welcome, good luck getting your friend to do it for you.
  23. You can probably download it, save a copy and then use MS Paint and change the size, it would probably work.
  24. That is a support article and it looks like they forgot to actually make it a link, it is currently only text. https://support.malwarebytes.com/docs/DOC-1141
  25. Which PROGRAM is the one locking up your computer? Is it Malwarebytes or is it the Support Tool? If you need to run the Support Tool without Malwarebytes installed, that would be a start...
