  1. Jive has provided us the following update:

[Update]: We have diagnosed the faulty component and are working on a fix. At this time, the hardware seems to be recoverable and all systems are being verified individually. Due to the volume of systems, we are still unable to commit to an ETA.

  2. We are currently experiencing an issue with the Malwarebytes Support website due to a wide spread outage with Jive (the platform that drives our support site). Jive has provided us with the following information on the issue:

The issue you were encountering was occurring right before all of Jive went down (we were actually testing/verifying the issue - so thank you for posting it), so it's likely related. We can't be sure though until Jive is back up.

As soon as we get confirmation that things are back up, a member of our staff will follow up via the following official topic:

I was getting a BSoD but not very frequently.  I was more getting network disconnects 10 minutes or slightly less after reboot. This happened after every boot.  Sorry I have no logs to share as I even fully rebuilt my computer.

Thanks for the info and I am sorry to hear we sent you down a rabbit hole that led to a rebuild.

If you are open to re-installing and re-creating the issue so you can grab us logs, that would be great.

I also have this issue and have gone through all kinds of troubleshooting to narrow it down and pinpoint MB as the root cause.  I have therefore removed it completely, rebooted and all is well with the world..however I don't wish to leave it off for long and would like to know if there is a way that we can be notified when a new release is due with these faults fixed so I can reinstall as soon as possible?

Sorry to hear this. I see your post was split from another thread, so some context was lost.

@DaveSample to confirm, you are experiencing issues with a BSOD occurring that claims MWAC.sys is the culprit correct? If that's off, can you help reconfirm your issue?

Next, please get us some logs if possible so we can try and pinpoint the root cause here.

Like the beat of Slaves.. I like more soft of soft music.. and pleasing to the ears..

Glad you enjoyed 1 out of 3. 😜

I'm in to modern aggressive music with a soft spot for 90's/2000's grunge and alternative rock. I have also been getting in to aggressive music that has progressive elements, mixed genres, and/or very technical instrumental components. So my tastes likely don't align with your tastes, which that's what's awesome about this thread. Lots of different stuff to listen too.

  7. Slaves has been slaying it with their new vocalist Matt McAndrews from The Voice (who is traditionally a solo pop artist). Their original founding lead singer Johnny Craig ditched them at the airport earlier this year due to addiction problems (and being a D - which he's known for). It is surprising how much better this group sounds now. Plus, they are already pumping out new tunes that sound better than before. Check out this latest track which their new signer originally pitched to Justin Bieber:

Falling In Reverse (aka Ronnie Radkke and a rotating set of hired guns) is one of my favorite groups. They like to mix hard rock, rap, nu-metal, post-hardcore, pop-punk, and metalcore. There is a little bit of everything for everyone and it just seems to always work. They have moved to releasing singles, with each one topping the other in a unique way. Here is their latest:

This last group is new to the scene per say. An interesting blend of post-hardcore, progressive metal, djent, and some saxophone action. Check out Shreezers:

  8. It depends on what device I use, but here is what I use currently:

    • Windows Devices - Microsoft Edge (Chromium Canary) and supports migrating data from Google Chrome
    • Android Devices - Microsoft Edge (Syncs with my Microsoft account and Edge Chromium)
    • Chromebook - Google Chrome because I don't really have an option here

This all changed for me when Microsoft moved to developing Edge using Chromium. Prior to that, I used Google Chrome across all devices and occasionally used Edge to view PDFs.

Can I use my existing licence key on Malwarebytes Browser Guard?

Good question. Malwarebytes Browser Guard is currently a free extension for Chrome and Firefox. No existing license or purchase is required to use it.

  10. @TekTrax I understand the issue you are bringing up and appreciate the feedback. Essentially, the Malwarebytes My Account site does not force uninstallation of Malwarebytes Premium on the actual device but rather deassociates the license seat. As soon as that device attempts reactivation with the stored/cached license, it reclaims that seat thus creating the situation you describe.

With that being said, it sounds like that you are a Managed Service Provider that does remote services for sites full of devices running Malwarebytes Premium. Is that a safe assumption? If so, the struggles you are encountering can be avoided and properly managed by using our MSP focused platform Malwarebytes OneView. It's purposed built to allow an MSP to deploy and manage Malwarebytes cloud products like Malwarebytes Endpoint Protection (think Malwarebytes Premium, managed in the cloud, and uses a minimal UI on the device).

If you would like, I can get you in touch with the right teams here to help discuss utilizing OneView for supporting and managing your clients.

  11. @Ether thanks for the candid feedback on the changes to the UX with managing exclusions/allowed items (known as the Allow List on 4.x). I will make sure this is shared with the Malwarebytes for Windows product team.

As far as the Forums registration feedback goes, we utilize several technologies to prevent spam accounts due to the overwhelming amount of spam attacks security site forums get. Sometimes this can lead to some email addresses to be denied for use during registration based on multiple criteria. I'll share your specific feedback with our other Admins to see if adjustments need to be made to prevent negative experiences like you mention.

As far as the URL you mention, that's one of the content servers used by the Invision Community Suite which is who provides our Forums system. Sorry if this made you feel insecure.

  12. @Benoit no problem on the assistance. Since you are a Techbench member, you also have access to the Malwarebytes Toolset on top of just MBBR.

If you need help with those at all, feel free to post in the private Techbench area or contact me directly. More than happy to assist or even provide a technical demo.

  13. @corke excellent question that I can help answer. Malwarebytes 4 supports using your existing license and won't modify your current expiration date.

Think of Malwarebytes 4 as simply the new Malwarebytes. It handles licenses just like 3.x did.

As far as the free trial goes, that simply means one can trial the Premium features if they want to without an existing premium license. Its optional and up to the user.

  14. @David H. Lipman thanks for reporting this. We can report the BBCode issue to IPS to see if it can be resolved. Just to be transparent, IPS has informed us in the past that BBCode is a "legacy format" that they only provide basic functionality for.

Also, thank you for the reminder on IPS release notes updates. I will bring this up to the other Admins to ensure this is updated going forward.
