  1. Yardbird.... as far as mp3 files or music files, if you are downloading them without paying for them, you run a risk of downloading one that may have a virus attached, hence causing either damage to your computer or possibly your MP3 player depending on what the virus was designed to do. When cleaning some computers, after I am done, I install anti-virus software as well, then do and update, afterwards I perform a full scan with the AV software. There are lots of times that I find music that is infected in folders like itunes, limewire, my downloads, my shared files... etc. It is best to have a good AV and MBAM to help protect from these infections.... Of course best solution is to stay away from programs like limewire and the like....
  2. It is a good idea to run a cleaner like CCleaner before doing a quick scan. It will improve the time it takes it to complete. The reason you can not access your wifes files is because she has a password and she has set her profile to private. Log on to each users account and run ccleaner on each account.
  3. Yes it would be a good idea, along with an Anti-virus software.

  22. since it is a Dell try this.... 1. Turn on computer and at the first Dell Logo hit F12 to enter boot options 2. Use your arrow keys and choose Hard Drive Diagnostics (to test your hard drive) If you get an error call dell with that error code cause the drive would be failing. 3. Repeat steps 1 and use arrow keys and go to Diagnostics and perform an express test. This will test your motherboard, video, hard drive, fans, memory etc for failures if you get errors call dell with those errors cause you have failing hardware. If those test come back without errors let us know and perhaps we can proceed from there.
