  1. Using poor old XP on my out of date HP laptop. Still does the job though.
  2. After running a scan and says there's no malicious files on my computer it wants to open the log, but this pops up... Windows cannot access the specified path, device, or file. You may not have the appropriate permissions to access the item. So this leads me to believe I have a virus...can anyone help?
  3. Alright, I've chosen Comodo for my new firewall, and I've turned of Windows Firewall. Thanks for all your help. On a side note, the last time I received help on this forum I asked the person helping me if I should get a third party firewall, and that my younger brother recommended it. He told me that a third party firewall was overkill. Should've trusted my gut I guess. Thanks Again!
  4. Thanks for the help. If I download one of these firewalls you've suggested, do I have to turn off the Windows firewall as well, or can you have both firewalls operating at the same time?
  5. I can turn it on just fine. A balloon pops up warning me the firewall is off, and to correct the error. It takes me to the windows security center, and it turns back on. I was just wondering if it possibly correlated with another virus. For the record, I've never downloaded any third party firewall.
  6. After malwarebytes restarted my computer, my firewall was off at start up, which has been an issue for the past couple months. So, I don't know if it's another virus messing with it or a windows error. Other than that, everything seems fine.

  12. Okay, right now I have a couple problems. One is the fact that when I turn on my computer, it starts with the windows firewall off. Second, I have done scans with malware and Avast Antivirus and neither have found anything. In fact, after Avast is done with the scan it pops up a long list of files it says it could not scan. What should I do?

  14. Malwarebytes was unable to find a couple of trojans that my AVAST! antivirus just uncovered last night. After finding them AVAST put them in the vault and I deleted them from there. Can someone guide me through some log files and make sure my computer is completely clean? I think there still might be some wondering around because some of my processes are kinda running slow.
