  1. there is a self guide removal tool HERE instructions for windows 7 should be the same, you can try running MBAM as an administrator by right clicking on the MBAM icon...... Otherwise follow the instructions that mountaintree16 has given you....
  2. the correct way to use this tool is as follows.... Please try this on the computer that is having an issue. 1. Uninstall Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware using Add/Remove programs in the control panel. 2. Restart your computer (very important). 3. Download and run this utility. mbam-clean.exe 4. It will ask to restart your computer (please allow it to). 5. After the computer restarts, install the latest version from here. mbam-setup.exe Note: You will need to reactivate the program using the license you were sent Launch the program and set the Protection and Registration. Then go to the UPDATE tab if not done during installation and check for updates. Restart the computer again and verify that MBAM is in the task tray and that you can run a quick scan and all is working as expected. if you got the error SHGetValue failed with error code 0, then more than likely its because the clean up tool had nothing to do.
  3. not sure what you have done to beat it, but if you can get MBAM to run, update it first, then run a quick scan and clean any infections if finds. The random name on top I have seen when I change the name of mbam.exe to something different. Its OK for now. If cleaning it this way wont work, then follow the instructions that Ibrad as that will definitely get you cleaned up.....
  4. I have not tested them yet but I have seen some early reports that some of the fixes still left some holes open....
  5. That's good that you got it cleaned out.... now like marktreg stated, follow up with a quick scan using and updated MBAM and updated AV. It will not hurt to have the full version of MBAM as it will help prevent any further infections....
  6. not really sure what to tell you, but any program that adds toolbars to my browser windows I would be suspicious of them...
  7. I have not had issues ordering from Dell.... but then again when I do order I am buying over 100 computers at a time, so they work with me a lot better and faster, plus I have an account manager that overseas my orders.....
  8. if you do not get a reply within a day or two, you can send a pm to AdvancedSetup and he will help you out as well.....
  9. More than likely it is an addon for IE.... First thing I would do is update my computer.... I see you are running SP2. Any reason why you dont have SP3 installed. What version of IE are you using? Need to update first, you may be surprised how many items get fixed just by updating....
  10. next time paste it to notepad.... LOL
  11. Your welcome, glad you are back up and running.... If you need further assistance don't hesitate to ask....

  15. We do not recommend running in safe mode cause it could cause other problems.... if you had an expert working with you and he suggested you do that then it would be OK.... I for one have done scans in safe mode, but I am also a computer engineer and I know what to do if I mess things up.... If you do run it in safe mode, then its at your own risk.... your best course of action is to follow the instructions above, if that does not work then follow the instructions below: We don't work on Malware removal in the general forums. 21. If you computer did not come with a windows Cd then it has a factory restore partition in there, where you would hit like F11 and select the right options to recover back to factory defaults.
  22. You are welcome and should you need assistance in the future dont hesitate to ask
