  1. Awesome. I expected that site to be the "cause" of the issue. One of the big problems with confirming Browser Guard issues is how many of them are post-authentication. I must rely on customers to go the extra mile in those cases. I am not sure what you are asking with regard to a recommended software package you can install. If you can setup a test machine, create an account for me and provide username/password via a private message, I will be able to test according to the standards I am requested to use. Because of those standards apply to a single site and not across the board, that also provides more information I can use to try for an "across the board" whitelist for the tracker.
  2. The site has been whitelisted. Please allow 15-30 minutes for changes to take effect. Sorry for the inconvenience.
  3. This is perfect. I am in discussions with the developer, and have provided him a link to this thread. Unblocking trackers goes against the grain of Browser Guard, but blocking essential functionality of legitimate websites also goes against the grain of Malwarebytes. You know what you need to do in the short term to have the functionality that you require, and I will use the information you have provided -- along with other information I have already gathered -- to try to come up with a solution that works for everyone. Sometimes the wheels turn slowly, but I will be persistent here. Sites which blend news articles with advertising are sometimes problematic. I go to one that I have to turn off Browser Guard to see pictures in news stories, then turn it back on afterwards. Between ads and videos that I did not ask for, they are able to maintain 10 Mb/s usage of my pipe just to waste my time. They have also been known to get as many as 500 BG blocks per minute thanks to their uncivilized way of doing business. The hungrier your news source is for revenue, the more they will justify the value of Browser Guard. In answer to your last question, there is not an area specifically for affected sites, as it would be quickly saturated with requests and demands to whitelist sites that are legitimately blocked. There are currently multiple forum areas that requests can be made. There are teams of people here who read those, verify blockages, determine reasons, and respond (usually) quickly.
  4. I do not think whitelisting those sites would add any value. I believe the problem is a single tracker that is being blocked. I need you or a member of your support staff to work with me to verify that, so that if it is the cause, I have justification for whitelisting the tracker. While on one of your sites, click the Browser Guard icon. You will see that tracker tags.tiqcdn.com is being blocked. Click the checkmark that will appear to the right of its name and see if that fixes the problem. Do this as early as you can so that any resulting behavior of interaction with the tracker does not corrupt test results. Do not check all of those, because I am not allowed to whitelist all of them. Based on past results, I am guessing this one specific block is the cause. If you find that to be the case, please let me know so I can take appropriate steps. Your assistance is required here because problems occur after users have been authenticated, not before. Thank you for your assistance.
  5. If you click on the Browser Guard icon while you are on the affected site, you will see a list of domains that have been blocked. If the editing process is broken as a result of Browser Guard, you will need to provide a log that I can go through. If the edited site is broken (and it is a public site), please post the URL so I can see the issue. Browser Guard is aggressive in some cases. If trackers are being blocked, a small number can be allowed for all sites, a larger number can be allowed for certain sites, and the remainder can only be handled with individual users' allow lists.
  6. Closing the thread as the issue has been resolved with the 2.3.16 hotfix.
  7. If you can provide shopping sites that you go to that are affected, I can take it from there. I am under strict controls on this subject (because it flies in the face of Browser Guard's purpose), but also recognize that we cannot dictate how eCommerce sites do business. The one tracker you did mention is unblocked for a number of eCommerce sites, though I cannot unblock it across the board unless I can justify that decision to "higher-ups." The toughest part of this is you can see what you get, but you don't always know what you don't get if you aren't used to seeing it. I once had a housemate who said nobody ever stole her mail (after I caught someone trying to do just that). If you know what you are supposed to get, you look for it. You never look for what you didn't expect, so you don't miss it when you don't get it. Same logic!

  10. @td47, When it comes to shopping and blocked pictures, specifications, reviews, please let us know which commercial sites are affected. I have fixed some of those, but each one must be confirmed AND compared to other products similar to Browser Guard. The problem is that Browser Guard (and the like) block trackers to protect you. Commercial websites may use good, bad or questionable trackers to aid you in your shopping. I need to separate out the good from the bad to make allowances for the good, while continuing to block the bad.
  11. I wanted to be sure before I said anything. It is a complete factory reset. It deletes all stored databases, cache, saved preferences, and blocked/allowed sites. Exercising that option will require that you provide a small amount of time to allow Browser Guard to get database updates so that it can provide the protection you want. When a new version is released, it ships with databases that are current AS OF THAT TIME. Databases change constantly, so they will become different than versions shipped with a new program version, hence the need to update.
  12. The site has been whitelisted. Please allow 15-30 minutes for changes to take effect. Suspicious download blocks occur for most downloads of EXE files. While sites like this provide files that are known and safe, some sites are allowing download of malicious or mislabeled files which can be damaging. At the very least, this causes awareness among users that EXE files can be dangerous.
  13. After reading internal documentation, I am holding off on an intelligent answer until I can provide one. I have several questions myself and am waiting for a reply from those who know.
  14. Whitelisted reputation block. Please allow 15-30 minutes.
  15. If whatever was causing the block on that page was fixed or removed, the page could easily still exist and not cause any issues. You are making assumptions that may not be valid.
  16. The site was not blocked for me, but I whitelisted it anyway.

  19. The site has been whitelisted. Please allow 15-30 minutes for changes to take effect. Sorry for the inconvenience.
  20. Sites using a .info domain are blocked by default in Browser Guard, but there is a setting that allows non-standard top-level domains (TLDs) to be unblocked by default. Because that opens the door to risk from malicious/questionable sites using the .info TLD, I have added a whitelist entry for this site.
  21. The site has been whitelisted. Please allow 15-30 minutes for changes to take effect. Sorry for the inconvenience. Also, thank you for providing a current link which I could use to test out a potential program issue.
