Root Admin AdvancedSetup Posted February 1, 2020 Root Admin ID:1359735 Share Posted February 1, 2020 1 hour ago, Slowman said: This exclusion AdvancedSetup shows with these granular exclusion rules doesn't seem possible for me. Hello @Slowman Please try a clean removal and reinstall of Malwarebytes. Then you should be able to set the exclusion with the shown and provided granularity https://support.malwarebytes.com/hc/en-us/articles/360039023473
Slowman Posted February 1, 2020 ID:1359775 Share Posted February 1, 2020 Hi - I already tried that. I don't see those advanced options on the there. I just get to add the application and then that's it. If I go to edit once I've added it I just get Browse for another appliction. There are no granular options. Is there some other way to get to them?
Slowman Posted February 1, 2020 ID:1359795 Share Posted February 1, 2020 Just tried a second time but nothing changes
exile360 Posted February 1, 2020 ID:1359797 Share Posted February 1, 2020 You have the item excluded as a web exclusion. You instead need to select the option to exclude it from detection as ransomware because it is the Ransomware Protection component in Malwarebytes causing the issue. Further details can be found in this post.
kado897 Posted February 1, 2020 Author ID:1359798 Share Posted February 1, 2020 @Slowman You need to add a file using Allow a File or Folder
Slowman Posted February 1, 2020 ID:1359801 Share Posted February 1, 2020 Thanks kado897 - I just figured that out. I naturally used 'application'. I have now done it as a file and it does work. Presumably this isn't the best idea for the long run though, so hopefully a fix will be along soon.
exile360 Posted February 1, 2020 ID:1359802 Share Posted February 1, 2020 Excellent, yes, we're hoping they'll have the fix out soon, hopefully in the next patch/update.
Root Admin AdvancedSetup Posted February 1, 2020 Root Admin ID:1359803 Share Posted February 1, 2020 Yes, I believe we do have a fix for it in an internal build but it needs further testing before its released. Once it has been more fully tested it will be released in a future public build.
inthe021 Posted February 12, 2020 ID:1362122 Share Posted February 12, 2020 My Photoshop started to display this generator error after a new install of Malwarebytes. I had no issues before Malwarebytes. I can use the fix described above (add node.exe to the Allow list) because I'm running Photoshop through Adobe Creative Cloud and adding the node.exe file from ACC hasn't fixed the problem. inthe021 Posted February 12, 2020 ID:1362147 Share Posted February 12, 2020 Hi @AdvancedSetup Is there identifying info in this file? Where can I open a support ticket?
Root Admin AdvancedSetup Posted February 12, 2020 Root Admin ID:1362148 Share Posted February 12, 2020 You don't have to post logs if you don't want to. There shouldn't be any real identifiable information unless you're using your real name on your profile in Windows (something I highly suggest never doing) You can just show me the screen shots or do as the screen shots show and that should fix it. Root Admin AdvancedSetup Posted February 12, 2020 Root Admin ID:1362149 Share Posted February 12, 2020 You can open a ticket if you like but they're going to say, ask, you do the same thing with the exception / allow setting. However it may be a few days before you get a response as they're quite busy https://support.malwarebytes.com/
