  1. It is a conflict with MBAM and your anti-virus. On your other computers you mention you have windows 7. Malwarebytes installed on windows 7 is setup as a delayed start, that is why it loads last after you anti-virus has already loaded. On Windows XP there is no delayed start-up in the services. This is why I am asking you to add these exclusions and that should solve your issues. Alternatively, as a paying customer, you can contact the help desk at support@malwarebytes.org or here. They may give you other solutions as well.

  4. Hello and I am not on the Malwarebytes staff but if I am wrong they are free to correct me.... It seems that something had made changes to the way notepad works on your computer, it could have been the program you installed. It is OK to quarantine the items... As for the Malwarebytes asking for permission to run after the restart, this is normal behavior, it is just asking for permission to continue the cleanup process. (this should only happen one time after a cleanup). Hope this answers your question.

  7. Hello and B) What you are seeing is Malwarebytes doing its job. The web-blocker is stopping connections to your computer that could possibly infect your computer. This is common when using torrent programs and P2P programs. To disable IP block notifications open Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware and click on the Protection tab. Uncheck the box next to Show tooltip balloon when malicious website is blocked. then close Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware. There should be no more notifications when a malicious site is blocked but the IP blocker will still be working .

  11. Hello and It does sound like your router was a victim of an attack. As to what caused it, that's hard to know. Even though your scans came up clean, if you want to be sure there is not something hiding like a root kit for example, you may want to post your logs in the HJT section for the experts to take a look at them. Please read the following so that you can begin the cleaning process: You have 3 Options that you can choose from as listed below: [*]Option 1

  20. during the unzipping process I would think, since it is accessing the file. If I put a malware file in a folder and then enable the protection from Malwarebytes, all I have to do is browse that folder and it will detect it even if I don't click on it.
  21. Just to add.... The process you are explaining is the job of your anti-virus software....
