  1. Even if the computer is new, it does not mean its not faulty.... Run those test as stated above as well as some test to test the memory and hard drive along with the motherboard.
  2. Hello and A quick scan is all that is really needed for a user with admin rights. It will scan all important locations in all profiles, and help you remove any threats. The only thing that it can't scan is the registry settings for the other profiles that are specific for those users. Even though it can not scan the registry, once the files are removed (IE the infection) once you log-on as one of the other users, the registry key would be invalid so it would not re-infect the computer. For best results (and its my preference really) I would do a quick scan under each user.
  3. Hello and Please do the following see if it helps: (Perform a clean/fresh install of Malwarebytes) NOTE: These steps need to be performed on your computer while logged in as an Administrator..... Download and run mbam-clean.exe from HERE It will ask to restart your computer, please allow it to do so very important After the computer restarts, temporarily disable your Anti-Virus and install the latest version of Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware from HERE Note: You will need to reactivate the program using the license you were sent via email if using the Pro version Launch the program and set the Protection and Registration. Then go to the UPDATE tab if not done during installation and check for updates. Restart the computer again and verify that MBAM is in the task tray if using the Pro version. Now setup any file exclusions as may be required in your Anti-Virus/Internet-Security/Firewall applications and restart your Anti-Virus/Internet-Security applications. You may use the guides posted in the FAQ's HERE or ask and we'll explain how to do it. If not please come back and let us know....
  4. You need to check the Event Logs if you can logon at the console. If you can logon the event logs almost certainly will tell you in more detail what's going on.
  5. Hello and I am not on the Malwarebytes staff, but the pro version should be able to protect you, along with your anti-virus software. Malwarebytes Web Blocker function in the PRO version should block some if not most of these sites and attacks. The database gets updated at least 5 to more times a day.
  6. Hello and Glad you like Malwarebytes, it is definitely the best in malware protection and removal.... That being said, if the items are already in the quarantine, you can leave them there, they in no way are active and can no longer cause problems with your computer unless you were to restore them. I tend to leave items in my quarantine for a while to make sure there was not a false positive and something was removed that was needed. (no one is perfect and mistakes do occur from time to time). I may empty the quarantine after a few months pass by and I confirm my system is working without issues. Either way its a matter of choice, but once you have removed it from the quarantine tab, there is no going back.
  7. as stated above... as long as it is a reputable dealer/seller and perhaps if you can find it in its original container unopen that would be great! I have purchased some ram from eBay before unopened.

  15. It is a lifetime license and not only that, you can transfer the license from one computer to another one.
  16. Flying Horse, Malwarebytes does not scan some types of files, for example pictures. They only scan files that are know to be executable or malicious. This is not entirely correct, there are known threats and viruses that can attach themselves to these types of files. For example here is an article at MSNBC that talks about it.
  17. OK thanks for that, I posted cause I got a few PM's asking me the question so I thought I put it out here for others to benefit from.
  18. Like this new layout, and getting used to it, just wondering what are the different colors on the folders for the topics mean? Some have like what looks like a notepad on them too? See attached image. Thanks
