  1. Wow you got quite a few questions (LOL) lets see if we can get them all answered. You will be wasting your time to do the updates first and then install SP3. Some of those updates are already included in the SP3 install file. You will however need to run updates after you install SP3, this will install any updates that came out after SP3. I recommend you run the windows updates several times to make sure you get them all installed. Ironically there are updates for the updates, if you know what I mean. You can install SP3 from CD by burning that ISO you downloaded. You can also install it right from the file you downloaded without having to burn the CD. (I usually do it this way). As for the slipstream, yes there are ways to do that, but I really have not done it myself so I can not give you the instructions, but I know it can be done. I myself have the Cd's for full installs with the Service Packs already on them. I get these from Microsoft Technet since I am a paid subscriber to them.
  2. Glad to hear you got it working again, and nice to hear support responded to you really quickly..... To answer your other question, no the backup CD is really not necessary like you stated, you can just download the free version, install it and then enter your ID and Key and it becomes the full version. Now that you have the full (PRO) version do not forget to set your update scheduler and scans... How To Use The New Scheduler Once you register your full version make sure you schedule your program for automatic updates and scans..... Have a look at the links below for instructions...... How To Use The New Scheduler (Applicable To Versions 1.45 and 1.46 Only) Video on using the new Scheduler
  3. Hello and It would be hard to tell, we would need more info, for example what version of Malwarebytes did she have installed, what database version was running at the time? Could you have her come by the forum and post some more info?
  4. Hello and Can you be more specific? Are you showing any signs of malware or viruses, are you getting any error codes? We need more information to be able to help you.
  5. Glad you got it sorted out..... Should you have any further questions, don't hesitate to ask.

  7. Hello and With the new version of Malwarebytes, they have worked on the scan engine where scan times have been reduced. Also If you run a quick scan and it completes, if you run another one (before doing any restarts) the second scan will complete much faster. This is due to file indexing. If you do restart the computer the cache will be cleared and the scan time will be a little longer again. This is by design and it is normal.
  8. Glad to hear that, should you have any further questions don't hesitate to ask....
  9. Trying what exile360 has suggested is an excellent idea... Also I would upgrade your windows to SP3, since you are only at SP2. Upgrading to SP3 will greatly improve the performance of your computer. After updaing to SP3 don't forget to do you windows updates. Do all these updates with the USB drive disconnected. Once you have done this, go ahead and power off the computer, plug in your USB external drive and turn it back on see if the problem is gone. SP3 should be installed due to support (including new security updates) ends July 13, 2010 for SP 2: As Disscussed HERE Please post back if you have further questions. Thank You
  10. Hello and You could try downloading and try scanning with Kaspersky Virus Removal Tool This is just another scanner you can try in case your Anti-Virus software does not detect the infection.
  11. Hello and Admin rights are required to remove all threats. Malwarebytes will scan all folders for all users and remove the threats, the only thing it would not be able to scan is the registrty key for that user (IE: HKCU). But even though it does not get the enteries in the key, the keys would no longer be valid and it would not infect the computer because the files that were infected were already removed. You could always log in as the other users and then right click on the Malwarebytes Icon and select Run as Administrator to clean those leftover keys.
  12. Not sure what you mean by that, but We do have REAL people here, and we do provide our services for free as well, even if you don't buy our software...

  17. Hi, and Welcome to Malwarebytes! Sounds like you may have an infection going there..... Please read the following so that you can begin the cleaning process: As we don't deal with malware removal in the General Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware Forum, you need to start a topic in the Malware Removal forum so a qualified helper can help you fix any malware related problems/infections you may have. Please read and follow the directions here, skipping any steps you are unable to complete. Then post a NEW topic here. After posting your new post, make sure under options, you select Track this topic and choose Immediate Email Notification, so that you're alerted when someone has replied to your post. One of the expert helpers there will give you one-on-one assistance when one becomes available. Please refrain from making any further changes to your computer (Install/Uninstall programs, use special fix tools, delete files, edit the registry, etc...) unless advised by a malware removal helper. Doing so can result in system changes which may hinder the attempts by a helper to clean your machine. NOTE: Please DO NOT post back to (bump) your topic within the first 48 hours. Replying to your own posts changes the post count and helpers are looking for topics with zero replies. If you reply to your own post helpers may think that you're already being helped and thus overlook your post. If there is no reply from any experts after 48 hours, you can reply to the topic, asking for help again. Or You may send a Private Message to a Moderator asking for assistance. Alternatively, as a paying customer, you can contact the help desk at support@malwarebytes.org or here. Please be patient, someone will assist you as soon as it is possible. PS: Please use the "ADDREPLY" button instead of other ones when you start replying.
