  1. its part of the install package, so it should just run like a semi-normal install...it just wont do it silently. We are trying the .msi to see if any better results.
  2. We are trying to add MWB to our standard computer image as a task sequence in SCCM. The problem is that it keeps asking for user response, even if we try to do it silently. Now PUSHING MWB to users goes silently just fine, but not when we try to add it in our image. She is using a .exe package we created///would a .msi be better for this? thx
  3. right now we have pups set to mark and quarantine. but pums are set to show only....should we change this to remove pups too? thoughts? thx Dan
  4. depends... printers have been known to have been loaded with viruses and boxed up. They would get shipped to rouge nations and whoops...their network is infected. I would think you are probably not on their "list"...
  5. also check for updated video card drivers....
  6. i did a boatload of "reinstalls"-- and it seems *most* are updating one way or the other. its just the report shows out of date...even with definitions from today. I prob need to adjust our "check for definitions" time down some. Maybe the "out of date" pie chard shoud be adjustabel/or not show as past due if its one second out of date.
  7. reminds me ove over in germany...later in the evening some silly shows would come on of girls pushing cars out of the mud and such strangness...very odd ....
  8. cool dat...I once considered it for the AF Been in for probably too long or (or am too old at 43 to switch now...) dare I ask why you got out of it? end of enlistment, etc...curious as it seem like one of those jobs ya just do forever as not much else could compare. I know computers are super exciting... , but...
  9. #10 add a password or "password protect" check box to the clients so users that happen to have admin rights on their PC's cant remove it.
  10. So we got MWB deployed out to most our computers. Its still showing 100% clients out of date. Even after I force a update, a few will, but most dont. The policy I have set for updating is: -Download signature update from managment server -Download from alternative soucre every 2 hours if managment server not avail for 4 hours -Download from Internet if signature update from custom path fails All other options are unchecked. and nothing in custom path. I was just at two PC's that popped up and said their signatures were 350 days out of spec, but updated fine after i clicked on the popup... I would prefer that our server handles the updates, but seems that its not. Most clients have been reinstalled after our server was updated for AD fix. I am not against sending them to teh interwebs to get the updates as we have 10 gig connection, but seems like waste of bandwidth, and not sure if it would affect bandwidth enough to be an issue. 1. are my settings in update policy fine? 2. why is it not updating even if i have it set to go to interwebs if managment server/custom path fails? 3. it still does not detect about 1/3 of our PC's after scanning- will prob push with SCCM, but still... 4. if i put something in the "custom path" and point it somewhere everyone can get to, how do i keep the definitions up to date at that location (no, i dont want to do it manually) I do appreciate the help so far on getting this set up. Just need a bit more to get them to update!
  11. Your going to need 620k free upper memory to use this program. Also 1 mb f free "High" mem. Just run memmaker...but remember it will break that other app you need....
  12. this sucks....to be in the U.S. and not able to get this (I tried) Stupid newegg!!!! ARRRGGGHHH!!!
  13. set to update to internal, but if not then every two hrs from web Back to the original question...how can we tell if its blocking MS Forefronts definitions? they seem to have stopped since MBAM install.
  14. what if your a tech guy living off the grid...man...no FB....no Twitter....
  15. Please do move to correct MEE area. Yep- running MEE downloaded log grabber- will try DNS? not sure...clients are pushing and reporting back---but don't seem to be reaching our MWB updates. Some client reporting back 365 days out of date. not sure why MS Endpoint not updating...
  16. are there any know issues with having MWB and Forefront 2010 running? Seems like clients are not getting latest definitions since MWB deploy. We are still researching this, but will MWB block this? this is a biggie here...2000 "unprotected" computers
