Running 1.13 - attempted update from within the program just now. Will shut down and restart and try again.

---------------------------

Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware

---------------------------

Update failed. Make sure you are connected to the Internet and your firewall is set to allow Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware to access the internet.

---------------------------

OK

---------------------------

Well that wasn't good. Had to end task the program after the update fail message.

Removal - reboot - reinstall and all works fine now. Not sure what hung it by using the internal update mechanism.

...Been recommending people use this if they have random DLL name infections and it fixes the problems every time.

Yea, MBAM does a good job detecting randomly named DLLs. h@tkeysh@@k.dll was the most interesting that I've seen.

Update went well with the internal updater.

1. There is a false positive with the current version, it flags HijackThis as malware.

Update through program went fine, although it didn't start with boot and in new version the protection won't start. I closed and reopened program and still won't start. Error code 997 MBAMService. Should I have done a clean install?

I've just used the internal updater to go from 1.12 to 1.14 and it downloaded the new version, then the updated definitions, then disappeared and I had to manually restart the program.

This has been happening for many versions but I thought it was just my PC playing up, but maybe not after reading these threads.

Can someone tell me what this is before I fix it. Google isn't helping much.

Well that is NOT a default installation folder for Hijackthis either.

Quite true. Was put there on purpose.

I got the service to start manually today and then did an update. I'm wondering if Online Armor is in anyway blocking the service? I have clocked to allow several times for OA but lately it seems to not "listen" for several programs. Let me know if this is something you want me to address with Mike Nash rather than here.
