  1. Greetings krolt and welcome to the forum. Please post to this thread: http://www.malwarebytes.org/forums/index.p...c=8095&st=0 It seems a few are having the same or similar issues with the full scan engine and the developers are working with them to gather info to try and fix the issue. Your input there could be very valuable to help them track down the cause and get it fixed. Thanks.
  2. Hi again Sharley, I saw you quoted my post. Did you have any luck?
  3. Yup, boclean works great on x64 and to an extent SUPERAntiSpyware works in realtime (it's driver's don't work in x64, but the main memory protection module does).
  4. Hi jdog, sorry I didn't see this thread, I responded to the other one here: http://www.malwarebytes.org/forums/index.p...ost&p=43881 My suggestion should help you get fixed up.
  5. Greetings. It could be a leftover effect of malware, like blocking them in your hosts file. Please follow the instructions here: http://www.malwarebytes.org/forums/index.php?showtopic=2936 and post your logs in a new topic here: http://www.malwarebytes.org/forums/index.php?showforum=7 Please be sure not to install any software or use any removal/scanning tools exept those that you are instructed to by the expert who will be assisting you as doing so can make their job much more difficult. I hope I was helpful. Good luck and safe surfing.
  6. Greetings jetpilot123 and welcome to the forum. I've been on here for a bit now and have learned a LOT (and I already knew enough to be dangerous). Enjoy your stay.
  7. Do you mean get it back from the manufacturer? If so, then yes, you'll get it back, but the hard drive will be replaced which means all your data will be gone as they don't give you back your old hard drive, so back up your data before you send it off (if it's under warranty).
  8. No problem, you can skip that part and do the rest for now. If the expert has an alternative for you they'll let you know.
  9. Greetings and welcome to the forum. 10. Sounds like your hard drive is going out due to mechanical failure. Unfortunately it happens and is quite common. I would highly recommend you quickly back up all the files you need to keep and make sure you've got all the drivers for the PC from the manufacturer so you can buy a new drive, or if the laptop's under warranty backup your stuff and contact their support.
  11. They are both very light. I've been using Kaspersky for about 2 years now and have had great success with it. Boots quickly and background usage is really light, with one crucial exception, when installing a new piece of software or running a program for the first time Kaspersky analyzes what the application will do before it lets it run and uses both it's actual definitions and heuristics to determine whether or not the program is malicious. With large files or programs it can take a while and quite a lot of CPU, but it's fine once it's done. Kaspersky Labs is working on making it quicker, but I'd rather have the protection as not. Heck, it even warned me about a DRM rootkit in one of the games I had just purchased when it tried to install a hidden driver. Though the driver isn't malicious and is used for copy protection, it's still nice to be aware that it's there. Besides, if you KNOW that the program is safe that you're installing, you can just right click Kaspersky's tray icon and click either Pause Protection, or Exit and it won't block anything. And when you exit Kaspersky, it really does exit completely unlike many other AV's (including McAfee).
  12. Greetings and welcome zoie. Please give this a shot and see if it gets rid of the bugger: http://www.malwarebytes.org/forums/index.php?showtopic=7403 If not, or if you have any other issues with malware then please follow the instructions here: http://www.malwarebytes.org/forums/index.php?showtopic=2936 and post your logs in a new topic here: http://www.malwarebytes.org/forums/index.php?showforum=7 Please be sure not to install any software or use any removal/scanning tools exept those that you are instructed to by the expert who will be assisting you as doing so can make their job much more difficult. 13. For me it's both (I'm a former long time McAfee user). I ditched em' after version 11 came out.
  14. I haven't seen that one yet. It could be malware killing the process once it starts to scan it's file(s). Please follow the instructions here: http://www.malwarebytes.org/forums/index.php?showtopic=2936 I know you can't get through the MBAM scan part, so just do the others. and post your logs in a new topic here: http://www.malwarebytes.org/forums/index.php?showforum=7 Please be sure not to install any software or use any removal/scanning tools exept those that you are instructed to by the expert who will be assisting you as doing so can make their job much more difficult. 15. It sounds like it's not booting from the cd because it's not set to in the bios. Please reboot the computer and press the delete key repeatedly as soon as it starts up (before you even see anything on the screen). That should let you access the bios, if not, then do the same with the F2 key and see if that gets you there. Once you access the bios setup menu, look for a menu called boot, boot setup or boot order and make certain that it is set to boot from the cd drive first, then the hdd (hard drive).
  16. Hi terryt and welcome to Malwarebytes'. I'm glad you were able to kill it off. There are quite a few so far struggling with this one. Should you see any further signs that you might still be infected after the restore then please follow the instructions here: http://www.malwarebytes.org/forums/index.php?showtopic=2936 and post your logs in a new topic here: http://www.malwarebytes.org/forums/index.php?showforum=7 Please be sure not to install any software or use any removal/scanning tools exept those that you are instructed to by the expert who will be assisting you as doing so can make their job much more difficult. 19. Greetings and welcome. It sounds like one of the VB runtime files that is used by both is getting removed when the software is uninstalled. That's odd, though as usually the winsxs folder backs up the various versions of the shared dll's so that this type of issue gets avoided. To fix it, and remove RR without it breaking your software again, you should try installing the latest VB runtime from Microsoft: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details...;displaylang=en Hopefully that will fix it for you.
  20. Greetings dumpav and welcome. Sorry to hear of your troubles. Please refer to this thread as it should give you some valuable info on how to get Windows to run again: http://www.malwarebytes.org/forums/index.php?showtopic=8706 If that is helpful, then please follow AdvancedSetup's instructions here: http://www.malwarebytes.org/forums/index.p...amp;#entry35969 Then please follow the instructions here: http://www.malwarebytes.org/forums/index.php?showtopic=2936 and post your logs in a new topic here: http://www.malwarebytes.org/forums/index.php?showforum=7 Please be sure not to install any software or use any removal/scanning tools exept those that you are instructed to by the expert who will be assisting you as doing so can make their job much more difficult. 21. Greetings again Fender. You might take a look at this page, it has very thorough instructions on fixing that error: http://pcsupport.about.com/od/findbyerrorm...ssinghaldll.htm If you want to wait for AdvancedSetup to reply that's ok too of course, but you can at least familiarize yourself with the issues and fixes listed. I browsed through it and they know what they're talking about. Options 4, 5 and 6 in the list of fixes would be the most likely to help your situation. Good luck.
  22. Greetings and welcome to the forum. To help you troubleshoot I'm going to ask you a few questions. First off, what other security software do you have installed? Second, have you tried running checkdisk to see if perhaps there is hard disk corruption causing the problem? Finally, have you tried uninstalling Malwarebytes', rebooting, and then reinstalling Malwarebytes' to see if that fixes it? Please post back with the info and let me know if my suggestion helped. Thanks.
  23. Greetings. Please try uninstalling Malwarebytes' then rebooting. Then reinstall it and do an update to see if that fixes it. Let me know if that fixes it. Thanks.
