I have found the same as you did. I actually prefer the cache in most situations.

This is a per group setting and it's currently off for Trusted Advisors. We'll put this on the list of stuff we need to talk about. -
Got it. IPS confirmed this feature has changed a bit in v4. In v3 it would show users within the thread and then if they were using the full editor it would italicize them to indicate a response was actively happening. Because IPS removed the full editor capabilities, this feature was also removed. So Recently Browsing in v4 only indicates someone is actively (or was very recently) viewing the subforum or thread. If you feel we've solved this / answered it, let us know and we'll lock it.

Want to be clear I'm understanding you correctly... you would prefer to copy/paste your canned response, manually edit each time and then post? -
No More Post Preview or Disable Editor
msherwood replied to Aura's topic in Forums Announcements & Feedback
What if you paste your canned response, tweak it as necessary in the editor, post... edit / post until it's right... then use the copy that works moving forward? I know this would make you have two canned responses - one for all forums and then one for our forums - but it should work. Thoughts? -

I too want to test the copy/pasting... this is a copy/paste of Alex's version of the Farbar post... Scan with Farbar Recovery Scan Tool Please re-run Farbar Recovery Scan Tool to give me a fresh look at your system. Right-click on icon and select Run as Administrator to start the tool. (XP users click run after receipt of Windows Security Warning - Open File). Make sure that Addition.txt option is checked. Press Scan button and wait. The tool will produce two logfiles on your desktop: FRST.txt and Addition.txt. Please attach report into your next reply. -
Rich Editor Feedback

IPS Community Suite 4 does not have a preview post option. Meaning, we can't enable it as it does not exist. To help with this huge loss, we changed our policy on the editing of posts so that anyone can edit and can do so immediately. Another feature we're looking at enabling is the ability to have the "source" button in your posting toolbar - which would allow you to see the code. This option is tied to some other security settings and we can't flip it on just yet. Give us a bit of time to figure out if this is something we can do. -

[SOLVED] unread forum not displayed correctly
msherwood replied to Firefox's topic in Forums Announcements & Feedback
Firefox - this is a bug. IPS is able to reproduce and has logged it for the team. Closing this for now. -
IPS Community Suite 4 removed screen names and only uses display name (or email). Locking this thread now.

Do you mean it only accepts screen name (display name) and not your email?
-
Looking into this now...

Guidelines and Privacy Policy have been fixed. Closing thread. -
Known Issues Preview Post option | Change to editing posts policy IPS Community Suite 4 does not have a preview post option. Meaning, we can't enable it as it does not exist. It was removed in favor of streamlining the posting process and relying solely on the What You See Is What You Get (WYSIWYG) interface. Version 4 relies on WYSIWYG and although this isn't ideal for all situations, our team wants to point out that the WYSIWYG editor does work very well. Not perfect, but very solid. The newer WYSIWYG editor also allows for better copy/pasting of rich and non-formatted text (hint: ctrl+right click in post window). To compensate for the loss of the "Preview Post" feature, we are also changing our policy on who can edit their posts. All users can now edit their posts. Another feature we're looking at enabling is the ability to have the "source" button in your posting toolbar - which would allow you to see the code. This option is tied to some other security settings and we can't flip it on just yet. Give us a bit of time to figure out if this is something we can do. How to find JRT and Other tools?
msherwood replied to cjb's topic in Malwarebytes for Windows Support Forum
This is the first of several phases in making our website a destination for company news, product marketing and sales, security education, community and more. The other tools section will be part of our new Labs area and we're targeting an update for this in late March. For now, you can still access the tools via their direct link. A few examples below: JRT: https://www.malwarebytes.org/junkwareremovaltool/ MBAR: https://www.malwarebytes.org/antirootkit/ Chameleon: https://www.malwarebytes.org/chameleon -
Thanks for the additional info, Random person on the internet! If you run into issues as you did a few months ago, please don't hesitate to reach out and let us know. The more details you can provide the better. We don't have plans to change JRT's simplicity and lean approach to removing PUPs, adware and other junkware.

Hi Lazerbaby, Thanks for sharing your feedback. The purging of Event Viewer logs was actually something we talked about during 8.0.0's dev cycle. We opted to keep this feature out of JRT due to feedback from technicians. Many said they preferred to have these in tact for troubleshooting both in-the-moment and for possible future need. We recommend using filters to trim down Event Viewer a bit if it's packed with logs. Do you have more details on your detecting less comment? FWIW, since acquisition we've tried to produce a similar number of builds and defs. And in some cases, we've beefed up the utility - Win 10 support, Restore Point creation, complete re-write for 8.0.0. Is there something else you think we should focus on? Would love to hear your thoughts!

Hello! While we will certainly have malware utilities within the toolset we're building, it won't be the only aspect we focus on. It's a bit too soon to talk specifics, but know we're focusing on the diagnostic and repairs aspects of the Windows world. Either now or after you refresh your knowledge, feel free to drop me a note with what you think we should focus on! I'm at msherwood@malwarebytes.org Thanks Tim!
