  1. @ unoriginal Probably Ah well, I just disable it until its patched. I don't use Reader too often and Flash I leave disabled half the time anyway
  2. Did you clean out the temp files prior to the scan? ATF Cleaner and/or CCleaner would be a good choice for this, I can provide you links to both if you need them.
  3. Hello Mandrake, and welcome to the forums here at Malwarebytes.org See if you can do any of the following: Please read and do the following so that you can begin the cleaning process: We don't work on Malware removal in the general forums. Please read and follow the directions here, skipping any steps you are unable to complete. Then post a NEW topic here. One of the expert helpers there will give you one-on-one assistance when one becomes available. Please note that it may take 48 hours or more for you to receive a response in the malware removal forum, as it is often busy at times. Please do not reply to your own post asking for help unless its been more than 48 hours since you originally posted, as this can make it appear as though you are being helped and take longer for you to get help. If you are unable to do all or any of the steps in the link to the directions above, just post your problem in detail into the forum I gave you a link to anyway and someone will be able to assist you. Also, when replying, please use the "ADD REPLY" button or erase what the person you are replying to said, as this makes the forum easier to read. Thank you
  4. Well none of my security software flagged the website, but that doesn't mean its something you should install. I would uninstall everything you installed from this website, reboot, and see if you're still having issues.

  6. snowyman, Glad you decided to to with Kaspersky Internet Security I hope you like it. I'm liking my Kaspersky so far Please use the "ADD REPLY" button when replying
  7. DOB, Hmm, well, have you ever seen a message like the DrWatson thing before? I am doing some Scroogling (www.scroogle.org/scrapen8.html) (I use Scroogle for most of my searching needs now instead of Google) and I am finding similar things... its hard to tell how legit it is... I did find a HJT log on GeeksToGo.com, which is a website for helping people with computers and malware removal and the like. DrWatson does seem as though it is more likely than not legit, though. Honestly I don't know. Unfortunately I don't know a whole lot yet, but I am learning, and I hope to know a lot more as time goes on. Please start NEW TOPIC here: http://forums.malwarebytes.org/index.php?showforum=6 With your DrWatson issue so that someone can help you with it.
  8. @ yardbird Exile may have an answer for you @ Buttons I don't use WOT, but my AV, HOSTS file and Mbam didn't flag it, but that doesn't mean its not potentially harmful.
  9. Looks like a Paratolegic program may be corrupted?
  10. I liked Dreamweaver a lot when I used it, Buttons I saw Microsoft Expression Web 3 at the store today when looking for my AV & looking at the games & photoediting software
  11. @ Buttons Yeah, doublemyspeed is not good at all & CyberDefender is rather borderline legit as far as I know... I wouldn't touch either, ever. I've seen the first one advertised on TV though... scary.
  12. hehe thanks guys, I'll have me a looky
  13. I'm glad that the repair tool worked for you, Amethyst Word can be a funny thing. I've messed up stuff before too on Word but not the way you did accidentally. Yeah, I wouldn't recommend copying the entire page. I'm sure the formatting, and any tables, etc, threw it off. Just copy the parts you really want/need. You're very welcome! I try to be as helpful as I can be
  14. I didn't get to see any I know MySpace has them but I like to avoid MySpace lol
  15. Can you access the help files in the program? Is this version 2003 or 2007?
  16. Snowyman, I recommend Avira, MSE, or Kaspersky. I just purchsed Kaspersky AV 2010 I am going to install it today. Switching from AVG Internet Security. Honestly, I wouldn't recommend CyberDefender at all.
  17. Hi DOB, I apologize for the later response. Yes, you should do some scans even with realtime protection on I recommend at least once a week. I do it daily, or once a day when my computer is on (I don't necessarily use it daily). I figure why not since its so quick Hmm. In regards to the date staying the same when you update... are you updating your Malwarebytes on an Administrator account or as an administrator? A false positive is a detection of malware/virus that is found by a scanner (Mbam, AVG, Avira, etc...) that is really not an infection. It could be a system file accidentally detected, a file that a user put in an inappropriate location (such as the root folder) that they should move or get used to the hit on the scanner, or any file that's accidentally picked up. Sometimes there's a mistake in the database, for a few reasons. I don't totally know and understand them all, I just know that they happen. That's why its always best to review your results before hitting quarantine. If something looks like it shouldn't have been hit, report it to have it checked. False positives are rare but they do happen. As for knowing, its kind of a gut feeling sometimes, file names, etc. Like I said though, I don't know tooo much about it, but its always good to review your results. Again, if you are unsure, report it. I think YoKenny1 covered the rest
  18. I have a Norton SystemWorks 2000 CD I came across a couple days ago from our Windows 95
  19. Yeah. More add-ons can cause slowness and such, also more to keep track of to update heh. I only have the bare minimums; flash, reader, etc.. plus the default included ones, whatever those do, lol. GoDaddy... heh. I see those on Comedy Central too. I don't really watch Football either... I've watched it a little bit. The commercials are funny though. I think they're findable on YouTube afterwards and there's a MySpace page as well... hehe
  20. @ Amethyst Oh, I didn't know there was a Scroogle add on. I'll check out that link later. Of course I haven't checked it out yet, but, it seems kind of unnecessary, you can just go to the Scroogle webpage. Yeah, I'd totally pass on Ixquick if I were you. You wanted it for its non-logging IP feature, correct? Scroogle does the same thing and isn't creepy hehehe of course Google's advertising on there Are they advertising Chrome again? I've seen advertisements both on TV and online for Chrome. They're all like, its like getting a new computer without getting a new computer (since Chrome is oh so fast). heh. hehehe I really liked the Sierra Mist Free ad on the Superbowl a couple years back... with Jim Gaffigan I think it was... it was so darn hilarious!!
  21. Again, well done! Don't forget that XP SP2 support ends July 13th of this year Good luck with the other two, and you know where to post if you need any help
  22. You're welcome Amethyst Ah. Maybe Scroogle isn't a supported search engine? Maybe it only supports certain search engines? Check the WOT homepage and see if it has a list of compatible search engines. If it doesn't list Scroogle, perhaps suggest it if there's a way to do that I like it too It's my homepage on all three of my browsers now instead of Google
  23. Edit: Removed link because of AdvancedSetup's post below.
  24. @ Amethyst http://www.scroogle.org/scrapen8.html Doesn't log IP addresses, etc... access logs are deleted within 48 hours, and is not a plugin or anything.. just a search site Exile first told me about it and now I use it as my main search engine
