  1. Just one more thing I forgot to add, the paid version does not scan drives that the free version does not, or rather, scanning of any drive is available whether or not you have the paid version.
  2. You're welcome DOB So E:/ drive is your printer, then? So you want to scan your printer? Go ahead if you'd like, but, I don't think you really need to.
  3. Hi DOB, and welcome to the forums here at Malwarebytes.org Maybe a silly question, but, when you found that it scanned E drive when it didn't before, had you JUST plugged in or enabled the E drive? Then this morning, had you by any chance unplugged/disabled the E drive? Also, as a side note when replying, please use the "ADD REPLY" button at the bottom of the page.
  4. hehe this is a great one, Credithis. Mind if I pass it along?
  5. Hello huntingwiley, and welcome to the forums here at Malwarebytes.org Sounds like you're infected. Please read the following so that you can begin the cleaning process. We don't work on Malware removal in the general forums. Please read and follow the directions here, skipping any steps you are unable to complete. Then post a NEW topic here. One of the expert helpers there will give you one-on-one assistance when one becomes available. Please note that it may take 48 hours or more for you to receive a response in the malware removal forum, as it is often busy at times. Please do not reply to your own post asking for help unless its been more than 48 hours since you originally posted, as this can make it appear as though you are being helped and take longer for you to get help. If you are unable to do all or any of the steps in the link to the directions above, just post your problem into the forum I gave you a link to anyway and someone will be able to assist you. Also, when replying, please use the "ADD REPLY" button or erase what the person you are replying to said, as this makes the forum easier to read. Thank you

  8. Hi Tim, and welcome to the forums here at Malwarebytes.org They should run just fine together, you may need to add some exclusions though. Malwarebytes is made to work with and to complement your AV
  9. Hmm that's more than I am able to help with, I'm sure someone else will have an idea though What are you running on currently? (That will help out whoever is able to help you).
  10. May I ask why you were trying to roll back?

  12. Hello devv, and welcome to the forums here at Malwarebytes.org 1) You need to manually update Malwarebytes if you are using the free version by pressing the Check for Updates button. It will not tell you when a new version is available - you need to check. However, when a new PROGRAM version is available, it is announced here on the forum You should update your database (Check for Updates button) prior to a scan. 2) The files get placed into quarantine just in case in the rare event there is a False Positive and you need to restore something Items in quarantine are rendered dead and cannot harm your computer. You should keep them in quarantine, yes. If you experience no issues after a week or two of placing the items in quarantine, you may press the "Delete all" button and they will be removed from quarantine (and yes, its perfectly safe to do this). Hope this answered your questions! As a side note, when replying, please use the "ADD REPLY" button at the bottom of the page as this makes the forum easier to read. Thank you
  13. You're welcome. Does it close when trying to do a QUICK scan as well as a full scan?
  14. Hello depawl, and welcome to the forums here at Malwarebytes.org The full/paid version of Malwarebytes does offer real-time protection, as well as scheduled quick scans, automatic updates, and a few other things. It protects you and detects and removes both what is leftover from what an AntiVirus can't full take care of AND what an AntiVirus won't even be able to find. It's good where an AV is not, and so, to answer the other part of your question, you need AntiVirus protection as well as AntiMalware proection such as Malwarebytes. Malwarebytes is designed to complement your AntiVirus software. As a side note, when replying, please use the "ADD REPLY" button at the bottom of the page, as this makes the forum easier to read. 15. haha funny stuff My ex had a poster of this on his wall and I am pretty sure he had a shirt too. I've also seen a few other people with a shirt with something similar. That one's my favorite.... hehe
  16. lava1, Just a quick question here, are you updating via an admin account? On XP you need to be logged onto the Admin account period to update Malwarebytes. On Vista (and pretty sure 7 as well) if you are NOT logged into the admin account, you can right-click and choose "run as admin". You'll be prompted for the password to the admin account and then you can type it in and Malwarebytes will update
  17. Well, uTorrent usage is not recommended of course, but, you should leave the IP protection on. Sounds like what you really want is a silent IP block. So the IP's get blocked, but silently so that you dont' see the bubbles all the time. Please go here: http://forums.malwarebytes.org/index.php?s...st&p=162100 Then, scroll down until you find this, Registry Switches for Controlling IP-Blocking You want this: silentipmode If you really do want to disable it though (not recommended), you want this (3rd one on the list): disableipblocking Let me know if that does the trick for you As a side note, when replying, please use the "ADD REPLY" button at the bottom of the page, as this makes the forum easier to read. Thank you.
  18. Hi Rara, and welcome to the forums here at Malwarebytes.org Does it find anything before the scan shuts down? Just as a side note, when replying, please use the "ADD REPLY" button at the bottom of the page. Thank you
  19. In short, there are PLENTY of ways to bypass it. You also have NO AntiVirus, which is your first problem You're infected, you need to read and do the following, and you need to get an antivirus too, which your helper can assist you with. We don't work on Malware removal in the general forums. Please read and follow the directions here, skipping any steps you are unable to complete. Then post a NEW topic here. 20. I gotta go for now, but I'll leave you with these links: http://users.telenet.be/bluepatchy/miekiem...prevention.html http://security.gt500.org/Wiki.jsp?page=Prevention http://miekiemoes.blogspot.com/2008/06/top...nt-want-to.html http://miekiemoes.blogspot.com/2008/08/i-d...use-i-have.html
  21. That's your first problem There are several FREE antivirus programs out there that I can link you to Nope, no backdoor in XP that allows this.. you've allowed your system online with no AntiVirus protection, and the limited account isn't impenetrable to infection, unfortunately.
  22. And also, in order to use MBAM, you need to download it, install it, and update it on the Admin account in order for it to install and update. Then you should scan from each account (admin first). Also, unfortunately, limited accounts are not fool-proof; you can still become infected. Do you keep programs such as Adobe Reader, Flash, etc... fully patched and up to date? Those can be pathways to infections as well.
