@yardbird

You should still have the older MSE antivirus on Windows 7. It's not very effective at all, but it should still be found. I'm not on my Windows 7 computer to review, but I don't recall getting that popup.

Can we get some new logs?

Please download Farbar Recovery Scan Tool and save it to your desktop.

Note: You need to run the version compatible with your system.
You can check here if you're not sure if your computer is 32-bit or 64-bit

  • Double-click to run it. When the tool opens click Yes to disclaimer.
  • Press the Scan button.
  • It will make a log (FRST.txt) in the same directory the tool is run. Please attach it to your reply.
  • The first time the tool is run, it also makes another log (Addition.txt). Please attach it to your reply as well.

Thank you

Hi   Never had the MSE antivirus (even when it came out free)  I had Avast Antivirus, & removed that a year ago+ ---& just kept
Malwarebytes Premium  - the Browser Guard, & Windows Defender....  right now the FARBAR program is rolling round & round.....  ??  Will be back after a reboot.

Would like to PM you my Speccy.txt. from what some folk said I think I can push this into Windows 10 (with an extra gb of ram)   Will try the Farbar again

@AdvancedSetup EDIT:  here's the logs:  will pm you the Speccy log.

See, but you have this in your logs telling WMI that it is installed

AS: Windows Defender (Enabled - Up to date) {D68DDC3A-831F-4fae-9E44-DA132C1ACF46}

You should uninstall the following

swMSM (HKLM-x32\...\{612C34C7-5E90-47D8-9B5C-0F717DD82726}) (Version: 12.0.0.1 - Adobe Systems, Inc)

Why do you have specific LOGON hours set on your system?

HKU\S-1-5-21-2617283567-942523685-3495000968-1000\...\Policies\system: [LogonHoursAction] 2

You can open that alert and set it to NOT alert you as well
