Can't run malwarebyts. Help

Recommended Posts

Hello stevec1915 and :welcome:

Unfortunately, sUBs' DDS has not been updated in nearly four years and is now all but abandoned in favor of more up-to-date products.  Please consider augmenting your attachments with the following for expert analysis:

Please read Diagnostic Logs and individually attach the 2 requested logs only from Log Set 1 in a reply to this thread.  Those diagnostic output text logs to be posted are FRST.txt and Addition.txt.

Thank you.

The logs show you have many tasks running or trying to run MBAM. Please delete all those tasks. Then do a clean removal and reinstall and let us know if that corrects the issue for you.

Please uninstall your current version of MBAM and reinstall the latest version using the following guide. MBAM Clean Removal Process 2x

Thanks

OK thanks for that info, lets get a fresh set of logs ( rerun the tools below making sure you have a checkmark in Addition.txt so we can get a fresh copy of the logs to work with)....

Please read the following and in your next reply ATTACH the 3 requested logs - Diagnostic Logs
(the three files should be CheckResults.txt, FRST.txt and Addition.txt)

Thank You,

Firefox

Don't see an obvious threat that might be causing the issue, but Explorer itself is crashing which is not good.

Please try running a full disk check. Click on the start menu and type in CMD.EXE and when it shows on the menu, right click over it and select "Run as administrator"

Type in the following:

CHKDSK   C:  /R

Then press the Y key to say yes to allow it to run on restart. Then restart your computer and let it run.

Then try the MBAM threat scan again and let me know how it goes.

OMG this was so helpful! after i did the checkdsk, the malware ran perfectly!

the computer now seems almost back to normal, crossing my fingers when i say this,

will have to see if it behaves over the next few days to be sure, but hopefully i am out of the woods.

You guys are AWESOME! X 5
