  1. You are correct about the following. Malwarebytes has no control on the Virus Total results. They usually change (get removed) after several days.
  2. This is a Browser Guard Block. I will Alert the proper team to investigate. There is no need for any further action from you at this time. @gonzo For future assistance please start your own topic.
  3. UNINSTALL AVG and restart. 1. Download the offline installer from : https://downloads.malwarebytes.com/file/mb4_offline 2. Run the installer Can you please let me know if that worked ? I do not suggest reinstalling AVG, Use Defender instead. Please also refer to this support article which lists several known applications which conflict with the Web Protection in Malwarebytes currently, which includes AVG.
  4. While you are freeing up space also UNINSTALL AVG as well. Then do a full disk clean. In the search box on the taskbar, type disk cleanup, and select Disk Cleanup from the list of results. Select the drive you want to clean up, and then select OK. In Disk Cleanup, select Clean up system files. Check all of the boxes Select OK. Then restart the computer and lets see what happens. After the restart get me a new set of logs.
  5. Do not attempt to upgrade again yet. After you clean up space, Get me a new set of logs so I can review. I will have further instructions for you.
  6. You have very little free disk space available. Windows feature updates require more space than you have available. Your 128gig SSD is not large enough unless you free up some more space.
  7. Actually, I clicked check for updates and only Malwarebytes needed to restart not the computer.
  8. I will request this to be moved to the correct section.
  9. Can you please collect and upload as an attachment the diagnostic data using our MBST? Download and run the Malwarebytes Support Tool Accept the EULA and click Advanced tab on the left (not Start Repair) Click the Gather Logs button, and once it completes, attach the zip file it creates on your desktop to your next reply
  10. Sync in any browser can be a double edged sword. Has its good uses and can turn rouge very easily. I glad I was able to assist. Stay safe.
  11. Please follow all of the following guide to fix this. After close Chrome and scan and remove the items again. If you followed the guide fully the detection's wont return after the scan.
  12. And when you do run short on memory, Windows uses virtual memory AKA your page-file on your Hard drive. Now depending on your drive and if it is a SSD or a standard drive, the page-file performance will vary. Like the stores main parking lot is full and the customers have to drive thru a very sticky muddy lot (page-file) around back and they can barely move. That is why I start with a SSD upgrade first, ram if it can be afforded at the same time if the computer is worth it in the first place.
  13. Please note, Malwarebytes does not target script files during a scan.. That means MB will not target; JS, HTML, VBS, .CLASS, SWF, BAT, CMD, PDF, PHP, etc. It also does not target documents such as; PDF, DOC, DOCx, XLS, XLSx, PPT, PPS, ODF, etc. It also does not target media files; MP3, WMV, JPG, GIF, etc. Malwarebytes will detect files like these on execution only with the anti-exploit module of the paid program.
  14. That is because it was going to be moved for you. We did not want duplicate topics.
  15. We need to dig deeper. Please download Farbar Recovery Scan Tool and save it to your desktop. Note: You need to run the version compatible with your system. You can check here if you're not sure if your computer is 32-bit or 64-bit Double-click to run it. When the tool opens click Yes to disclaimer. Press the Scan button. It will make a log (FRST.txt) in the same directory the tool is run. Please attach it to your reply. The first time the tool is run, it also makes another log (Addition.txt). Please attach it to your reply as well. Thank you
  16. This time do NOT use Revo. Please do the following Uninstall and reinstall using the Malwarebytes Support Tool Please have lots of patience with the tool. The first phase is a cleanup and does require a Windows Restart. After the Restart, it may take 2 - 3 - 4 minutes till the Support tool screen shows up. Please be patient and have faith. Wait for it, whatever it takes. The 2nd phase is where it offers to do a new Install. Let me know if that clears up the issue or not.
  17. You post will be moved to the correct section soon. No need to create other topics.
  18. Unfourtantly, none of the current gen off the shelf laptops have trap doors or even removable batteries any more. you have to remove the bottom at least. Everyone and their grandparents are buying laptops instead of desktops lately.
  19. Some laptops require removing the motherboard to reach the ram. Not a simple task for most end users. Also some can not be upgraded either the ram or the drive. All the 32gig and 64gig emmc laptops I am looking at you.
  21. To me the first step in a computer upgrade is a SSD drive. Ram is next. There are many computers sold that none of the above will really do anything to help.
  22. If you recheck that link, you will see Malwarebytes is not detecting it anymore. You have an uphill battle with the other vendors though.
