Still getting occasional instances of MB3 Premium System Tray Icon not loading and some real-time Protection Modules not working at startup. Clicking on failed Protection Module doesn't start it. Shutting down and restarting usually brings things back to normal. See attached Dashboard screen snip & MB Check results. ransomware for xp
TempLost replied to 1geekmercenary's topic in Malwarebytes for Windows Support Forum
CryptoPrevent 8 from FoolishIT provides a level of protection against Ransomware on XP. Nothing is going to give you total protection, however. I use CryptoPrevent Premium on Windows 7 alongside Malwarebytes 3 Premium but, never having been attacked, can only say that the product looks effective. -
Settings & Exclusions Export/import function
TempLost replied to IvanIvanovich's topic in Malwarebytes for Windows
Yes, I agree - I'd like to see the function added in future. -
Awesome!

Just to say that I installed 3.2.2 2018 over the previous 3.1.1 2018 BETA and all went well, apart from a heart-stopping moment when the Dashboard informed me that "your subscription ends today" in red letters before changing to the expected Premium Dashboard (I have a lifetime Premium edition). Everything seems to have carried across apart from my Language : English (Queen's Original) which had reverted to English - American and changed the date format. Annoying, but I know you are aware of the BUG and will fix it in time, I hope. Windows 7 SP1 Home Premium 64 bit - Malwarebytes Premium 3.2.2 - Microsoft Security Essentials, CryptoPrevent 8.0.2

Setting up an account at malwarebytes.com
TempLost replied to ChickaDJ's topic in Malwarebytes for Windows Support Forum
That link allows you to log in if you already have an account but you can't create a new user account. I'm guessing that a user account is only created if the user is paying annually and that there isn't one for a lifetime licence - or have I got that wrong? My Premium licence is lifetime and I don't remember ever having an account set up. -
complimentary antivirus

So, do I read you correctly - you don't use Malwarebytes in active mode now at all? -
complimentary antivirus
TempLost replied to kisianik's topic in Malwarebytes for Windows Support Forum
Nobody, absolutely nobody, in the real world is going to get 100% detection rates of viruses and malware. You can provide test results showing 100% detection rate of a group of test samples but it means little to the end user, apart from giving them a false sense of security. Backing up your computer(s) regularly to at least two other locations, exercising common sense in web browsing and email handling, and using Malwarebytes Premium alongside a reputable and trusted antivirus package of your choice is what I recommend to those who ask my advice. And my personal preference is to use CryptoPrevent as well as taking regular registry backups with Tweaking.com's Registry Backup. -
Oh how true, Skier ?

And still an issue, I believe - but glad to help.

Malwarebytes and Avast?
TempLost replied to ChromeDome's topic in Malwarebytes for Windows Support Forum
Since I posted this, a further update of Avast 2017 started to give me problems and, try as I might, I couldn't resolve them. I decided it was time to go back to MSE, as I decided that this, alongside Malwarebytes 3.0 Premium, CryptoPrevent 8.0 and a regular system backup strategy was adequate protection. -
Is MB Clean able turn off MB 3 Premium's Self Protection mode when it runs or is it necessary for the user to do this manually before using the tool? I'm asking just for information - I have turned off Self Protection myself prior to running the tool just be on the safe side but I've not noticed such advice being included in instructions on running MB Clean in these forums. Thanks

I should have mentioned that I already carried out the clean / reinstall procedure you suggested after I saw this happen the last time (using the current release). I had hoped the issue was resolved. So I'll carry out the procedures suggested in stage 2 of your post when I have a moment and re-post with the logs. Thanks for your help.

Occasionally when booting up the computer, Malware protection module fails to load. Closing Malwarebytes from the System Tray and restarting Malwarebytes from the desktop icon seems to solve the problem - mb-check-results.zip attached. Self Protection Module is enabled............ Mike, A temporary workaround until they fix this annoying bug is to choose English UK language, when the date format will appear as you expect. This formatting is lost on upgrading or reinstalling (another annoying bug) but it should be rectified in a future release.

Malwarebytes 3 Report Location
TempLost replied to TheAceMan1's topic in Malwarebytes for Windows Support Forum
I've used this free software to successfully resize partitions - but I'd recommend a full system backup before you use it just in case https://www.partitionwizard.com/free-partition-manager.html -
Unbelievable!

If you change the language settings to English UK, it will show the date format you expect. Note that when you perform a version upgrade, MB 3 doesn't retain the language setting and you have to reapply it, but I'm informed this irritating bug will be addressed in a future release.
