  4. Hi Maurice, So I understand. I presume that Microsoft will eventually provide an update or a driver that will facilitate the move to the 2004 Feature Update on my ThinkPad but I guess there's no guarantee of that - if I remember correctly, Lenovo doesn't even admit to testing 1909 with the ThinkPad T450s. I was a Windows 7 user before this move to W 10 on a refurbished laptop and the whole Features Update and 'Windows as a service' scenario is somewhat daunting. What exactly is meant by Service Life? Does 1909 get limited security updates after May 2021? Thanks Advanced Setup as well for the link. Interesting, if confusing reading. I'm right up to date with drivers, I think, as I regularly check out Windows Update, Lenovo driver downloads and Intel also. As I said earlier, I'm in no rush to move on from 1909 but am interested to know what's blocking 2004 being offered. Iain
  5. Have been running the latest Beta and component updates on Windows 10 Pro 1909 with no discernable problems. Windows Update tells me that W10 2004 is not yet ready for my ThinkPad T450s(!), but I plan on keeping my head below the parapet for at least 90 days anyway before I venture to update. Thanks again to the team for a great product.

I've recently bought a Samsung Galaxy A40 (Android 10) and installed Malwarebytes Premium All runs as expected except that, under Non-critical Issues, Malwarebytes wants me to set up Background Exclusion. When I click on the displayed 'Set up Background exclusion', I'm taken to the 'Optimise Battery usage' page, where the option is already switched on. Any ideas about what I should do to get rid of this warning? Thanks as always, Iain

  9. Please download and run the Support Tool as indicated in post # 2, then upload the zip file generated so that one of the experts on this forum can help you.
  10. As a long-time user, I would certainly recommend you try it again. Like any other constantly and rapidly evolving software, especially security software, there is the inevitable possibility that problems of incompatibility may arise, but these are normally resolved quickly. I use the latest version of Malwarebytes 4 Premium alongside Windows Defender with the current release (1909) of Windows 10 Pro and am confident that this combination gives me a high level of security.
  11. A further update:- I spooke too soon and the incidents of dropped wireless signal reappeared but I haven't had the opportunity to do any further testing. I was pretty sure that I was wrong in suspecting that Malwarebytes might be the cause and came across this link on the Lenovo site with some suggestions for resolving the problem - https://support.lenovo.com/gb/en/solutions/ht502846 Method 7, Disabling 802.11n Mode from 11n/ac to 11ac for the Wireless Adapterseems to have done the trick and no more dropouts have occured since I made that change. Just in case it helps anyone else...............

Just an update:-- I still got a few incidents of my wireless connection dropping out since my last post and did some more work trying different drivers for the Intel(R) Dual Band Wireless-AC 7265 on the ThinkPad T450s. I had been running the recommended driver installed from Windows 10 Update, but then tried the tool on the Lenovo site which recommended another driver, which didn't improve the dropouts. I then went to the the Intel site and their tool recommended yet another driver, version Since installing that driver, I've not had any more episodes of dropouts, so I suspect that the fault lay elsewhere than with Malwarebytes - so thanks for all the help here and apologies for the wild goose chase!
  17. @LiquidTensionDon't have the automatic dumps switched on at the moment, I'm afraid - but I've not had a reoccurrence of the issue since a clean reinstall of MB via the Support tool, so perhaps just my setup. If problems reoccur I'll try to do some more disciplined testing and reporting. Thanks as ever!
  18. I'm not exactly sure whether the problems I have with Desktop Search are mine or Window 10's, it's not something I've devoted much time to - been too busy getting other things sorted. So Ihave to take a deep breath, go back to the beginning and ..read all the info I can and make sure everything is set up correctly before I start pointing fingers. I've always (well, for 20 + years) used Office Outlook as a contact manager and it's worked pretty well. I've got loads of history in PST files and Windows search, certainly in W7, would pull stuff out in a trice.I don't rely on it entirely for emails as my accounts are all Gmail or use domains I own as a portal for Gmail, and I can use webmail in extremis or a Gmail app and still keep in touch. PST files can be a bit fragile and using CompanionLink to sync with Google Calendar can be a bit too exciting at times, and if I was starting again I'd do it all differently but I'm too long in the tooth to change. And better the devil you know......... Windows 10 doesn't search PST files and one has to use a third party solution - crazy, but true. What I want to do is search the content of Word, Excel etc files for particular content and I thought I knew how to do this successfully but it doesn't seem to be happening just now and my brain has turned to mush. To add to this, I know that there has been an issue with W10 1909 recently that's screwed up Search. It's not an immediate problem because Lookeen works superbly for Outlook where 90% of my off-the-web searches take place and I'm a retired guy in rural France with more important issues that should be occupying my time (or so my wife tells me!) but my natural curiosity bugs me to solve it. So one for another day......... But I've reinstalled MB4 and excluded Casper and I'll come back on those issues if they reoccur. And look further at Windows search later and report back.
  19. Good thoughts on the Casper Backup, I'll do that next after I do the MB reinstallation. Not just me thenon Controlled Folder Access then! Now, if I can only get Windows Desktop Search running properly in Windows 10, I might stop missing Windows 7 altogether. Used to be able to perform fast searches on the contents of my Outlook PST and Archive PST with W7 but, without telling me, they took that away in W8 +, so I invested in Lookeen Search which does a great job of searching PST files. It can also replace Windows Desktop Search but I haven't really investigated that part of it, so I guess that's the next step. ............

Thanks for your advice @Porthos - I did have controlled folder access switched on the other day just to try it out but switched it back off as it gave me more grief than I thought it was worth, and it's still showing as off. Perhaps it was on when the last MB update occurred, but I don't think so. Do you think a reboot and a clean reinstallation of MB via the Support Tool might be the best next step?
  21. I haven't noticed anything amiss while using the laptop but Reliability Monitor has recorded two instances of an APPCRASH associated with the Malwarebytes Tray Icon, yesterday and today. I attach the Support Tool report that I've just generated after reviewing today's Reliability Monitor status - the APPCRASH details are below. If you could throw any light on the cause or pass on the results if it helps developers. I have had a few issues show up in the Reliability Monitor but nothing I view as serious incidents. Everything seems to run well and I ran CHKDSK and SFC with other diagnostic checks. If there's no obvious cause, I'll run the tool again and reinstall Malwarebytes 4.   22. Well, I've been running a few days now with all 4 protection modules activated and haven't experienced any dropouts. The only changes I have made that I could suspect might be responsibleffor the improvement is that I let the Lenovo driver update service update 3 or 4 drivers. My policy had been to rely on Windows Update for drivers rather than Lenovo unless I could identify a specific need for the latter but perhaps not the right policy here?
