  1. http://prntscr.com/msa5wk Anyone getting same error? Even if i restart computer few times it shows up...
  2. Windows 7 Ultimate SP1 x64 I do not need help, this is simply a report of a bug I encountered while trying to install re-install MBAM 3.6.1.2711 I booted up my system today and was told by MBAM that my real-time protection was no longer working. while running through various normal troubleshooting steps, I discovered In the system event logs, that there was an error saying that MBAM could not start real-time protection because it could not find a specified file. my system is clean and has no corruption, so knowing sometimes this happens, I decided to download the latest version from the website and do a setup upgrade/reinstall. everything was going fine until I suddenly received an error message that said "Setup was unable to create the directory "c:\programdata\malwarebytes\mbamservice". Error 5 : Access is denied." I have manually checked the directory, and the directory, if it existed originally, no longer exists, or any other file in the "c:\programdata\malwarebytes\" directory. I know for a fact that there were files there previously. I don't know why setup is unable to create files there suddenly. setup was also unable to rollback changes. this is most likely due to what ever is blocking setup from installing mbam in the first place. running setup a second time, the process succeeded, which makes me believe it was a bug in the setup software. real-time protection also started working again after setup successfully ran.
  3. When I deleted Malwarebytes it removed my wifi and my sounds and I can't enter in my settings. I'm reseting my pc now. I will never use Malwerbytes ever again.
  4. Every time when i start Malwarebytes BSOD appiers. In safe mode it runs. Tried support tool, but if i run it, it causes BSOD. ADWcleaner, and another malwarebytes production works OK. Win7 home basic; 8gb RAM; intel pentium g2030 14d premium version.
  5. I'm getting an "Unable to Connect to Server" error from Malwarebytes after a clean Win10 boot. I've attached diagnostic files as recommended. Jeff mb-check-results.zip
  6. Hi, whenever I want to open Malwarebytes, it gives me the "Unable to connect to service" error. Already tried un- and reinstalling the program, but I'm still getting the same error. I've even used the mb-cleanup program and it didn't work either. I downloaded and ran the mb-check program which created a zip-file, which I'll attach in this post. Hoping to get this issue resolved Sincerely Lambda EDIT: added FRST and Addition.txt files mb-check-results.zip mb-clean-results.txt Addition_22-02-2018 13.49.55.txt FRST_22-02-2018 13.49.55.txt
  7. Staf Malwarebytes, I just bought the license, however when assigning the key I get the following message: "the identification of the installation is not found" / "can not contact the license server" I will appreciate your help, mb-check-results.zip
  8. I have tried following the various helps in the above as I am having a similar issue on my new Win 10 computer. I have now uninstalled and reinstalled Malwarebytes a couple of times but getting the same results. When I click on the icon to run it I am getting: "Unable to connect to the service." When I attempted to go to certmgr.msc, I get the following: "Windows could not start the Malwarebyte service on local computer. Error 1068: The dependency service or group failed to start." Any help is appreciated. Thanks so much.
  9. Hey! I was playing overwatch, and when i stopped playing it i desided to go browse the internet. I use the latest version of Chrome, with Adblock Plus, Avira Browser Safety, Poper Blocker and with MalwerBytes Extensio BETA. And i saw that chrome was open (i closed it before playint OW) and i saw 25+ tabs open that was from my browser history (the links was drive-by-download links) and all of it was blocked by MalwareBytes. I did NOT open them, and the links was not suspicious. One of them was Skype download file... here are some photoes I think it was done by MalwareBytes extension. (the blocked links started to dissapeare from my history, strange huh?) Any help why did this happened?
  10. I'm still having a problem with the ransomware protection preventing my Big Fish games from playing, after a certain time this error will pop up & close the game, I also see the error upon installing a Big Fish game. If I turn off ransomware protection the error message doesn't pop up & therefore I have no problem. I've clean installed MB premium (uninstalled via the removal tool). I've attached the error message as well as the support tool results. Tia, mbst-grab-results.zip
  11. I too have had a major hiccup on my initializing MB. Every other program tells me theres nothing detected on my PC, however my passords and a few accounts have been hacked even though I keep changing them. I've already done the following and attached my log info. Let's try and get some logs first so the team can review them and see if they can tell what may be causing your issues.... Please use an Administrator account when doing the following, FIRST: Create and obtain Farbar Recovery Scan Tool (FRST) logs Download FRST and save it to your desktop. Tell any program that blocks it to ignore or allow. It IS SAFE. It contains no info that can identify or harm you. NOTE: You need to run the version compatible with your system. You can check here if you're not sure if your computer is 32-bit or 64-bit Double-click to run FRST and when the tool opens click "Yes" to the disclaimer Press the "Scan" button This will produce two files in the same location (directory) as FRST: FRST.txt and Addition.txt NOTE: These two files will be collected by the MB-Check Tool and added to the zip file for you NEXT: Create and obtain an mb-check log Download MB-Check and save to your desktop Double-click to run MB-Check and within a few second the command window will open, then click "OK" This will produce one log file on your desktop: mb-check-results.zip Attach this file to your forum post by clicking on the "Drag files here to attach, or choose files..." or simply drag the file to the attachment area Can you assist me? mb-check-results.zip FRST.txt Addition.txt

  13. It's telling me my updates are not current but each time I hit "check for updates" it checks for half a second then goes back to "check for updates"...? Kind of irritating, I'd like to get this updated. I've power cycled and that didn't work so I'm not sure what my next option would be.

  15. Hey. I'm using free Malwarebytes 3.4.5.2467 (Windows 7 64bit) and I have a problem with the scan time. When I perform a full scan of the system disk it takes many hours. The main place that seems to affect dramatically on scanning time is Windows/Winsxs/* My winsxs folder is 14.9GB 72061 files 189444 folders You can not reduce this folder. And MB can scan up to 6 hours for the entire drive. Is there any way to do something about it?
  16. Hi! Following the steps to try to solve this; My your FRST, Additions, and Malwarebytes Threat Scan logs. Ty already, I'll wait for the help. Addition.txt AdwCleaner[S8].txt FRST.txt
  17. so I noticed my Malware-bytes was gone from my quick toolbar so i tried to run the .exe to no avail. each time it told me that it couldn't connect the service. i uninstaled it and reinstaled it, same results, then i used the cleaner tool ive seen in ohter similar forums on this site but that too got me nowhere. prior to this i ran a full scan the day before with no issues and recently a quick scan with windows defender. however nothing showed up i have 64bit windows 10 Toshiba laptop. i have/ had the premium home version installed on my pc
  18. Lately MBAM has become more obnoxious popping up nag boxes to upgrade. If I clicked "no" to this 14 days in a row, why would I will click "yes" on day 15? But putting that aside for a second, I was informed that a new version needs to be downloaded and installed. In other programs this happens seamlessly. In MBAM, I click 'agree and install', it attempts a fresh installation of the whole program, and immediately I get a long error about "could not overwrite mbam.exe"... now, I'm aware of what's happening, it doesn't have permission to shut down and overwrite the main MBAM process, which is currently running. I know enough about computers to deal with it. But a lot of people will just be confused, my parents or grandparents won't know what that error means or what do with it, so they won't upgrade. After being around 12 years, how do you not predict this obvious problem with the installation, and figure out a way to ensure it doesn't happen, instead of just leaving the user to click ok to a confusing error dialogue with no further hints? Maybe this is a lot of complaining to do for a free product, but if you want any hope of getting money from me, I have to know the program will not be intrusive, and that updates will go 100% smoothly, otherwise it's worth what I'm currently paying.
  19. Hey! My PC was running normally but after i restarted my computer on the same day when the computer was fine i actually got a WiFi Limited Access Error! 20. Hi to Porthos, I have the same problem saphicdrmr however, I use a USB WIRELESS BROADBAND DONGLE and I was surprised that my MB was blocking the internet. Can you help me with this? I followed your steps above and here are the results: mb-check-results.zip
  21. Recently got a new computer and tried to get the malwarebytes 14 day premium trial but when I downloaded it I just had the Free Verson instead of the trial
  22. Same problem but following above steps unsuccessful. But uninstalling and reinstalling worked OK. This problem may be connected with end of trial for premium which I did not take up. So unable to connect to service after end of trial.
  23. Malwarebytes-Premium keeps telling me "Real-TIme Protection turned off", and when I try to turn it on, it says "Starting..." for a moment then goes back to off. I am unable to turn it on. I've restarted Malwarebytes, restarted my computer, all to no avail.
  24. I'm trying to activate the license that I've purchased back in October 2017, but I keep encountering the error saying "Unable to contact license server. Check your network settings or contact your system administrator for help." What can I do to fix this? Thank You. mb-check-results.zip
  25. For seemingly random reasons, I can't connect to the license server, even though my internet is fine. If I type in my ID and key, the button will let me activate, but pressing it crashes Malwarebytes and freezes up some applications on my computer. Why is this happening? I just want to use the software.
