  2. well right off the bat, I see you are using McAfee with MBAM. Have you entered the exceptions for MBAM onto your antivirus program. Like stated here: Please exclude the following files from your antivirus: Note: If using a software firewall besides the built in Windows Firewall you'll need to exclude them from it as well For Windows XP: C:\Program Files\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\mbam.exe C:\Program Files\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\mbamgui.exe C:\Program Files\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\mbamservice.exe C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Malwarebytes\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\rules.ref C:\Windows\System32\drivers\mbam.sys C:\Windows\System32\drivers\mbamswissarmy.sys For 32 bit versions Windows Vista or Windows 7: C:\Program Files\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\mbam.exe C:\Program Files\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\mbamgui.exe C:\Program Files\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\mbamservice.exe C:\ProgramData\Malwarebytes\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\rules.ref C:\Windows\System32\drivers\mbam.sys C:\Windows\System32\drivers\mbamswissarmy.sys For 64 bit versions of Windows Vista or Windows 7: C:\Program Files (x86)\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\mbam.exe C:\Program Files (x86)\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\mbamgui.exe C:\Program Files (x86)\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\mbamservice.exe C:\ProgramData\Malwarebytes\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\rules.ref C:\Windows\System32\drivers\mbam.sys C:\Windows\SysWoW64\drivers\mbamswissarmy.sys Please post back and let us know how it went. Second, make sure you have the latest video driver installed for you video card if you suspect it to be the video card. Have you ran a memory tester on your computer as well. Faulty memory could cause that. If you were to get us a little more info on the exact error on the BSOD, we may be able to provide better help.
  3. according to your screenshot, that is not a virus or malware. When you by Microsoft Office, you are allowed to use the product key on ONE computer only. As you have stated you have it installed on 2 desktops and two laptops. That's four copies, so therefore, Microsoft has tagged your product key as being used more than one time so it is no longer genuine as far as they are concerned. Eventually you will start getting that message on the other three computers. You will have to contact Microsoft to get it all sorted out. (or buy a new copy for that computer). Now there are corporate keys (product keys) that allow you to install on multiple computers. If you have one of these type keys, then you should not have received this message either unless you key got blacklisted. Anyhow to fix your office you will have to contact Microsoft tech support to sort it out.

  6. The quick scan already usually runs in less that 10 min. As for the full scan taking less than 30 min regardless of hdd size, not that is just not realistic, as we can not control the number of files that users have from computer to computer. The more files you have to scan the longer you scan times will be. This is why its a good idea to run disk cleaners prior to performing a scan, especially a full scan.
  7. WOW THATS AWESOME!!!! it is indeed a great thing to see a good company such as this one step up to the plate when needed. Thanks Malwarebytes!
  8. it could be a firefox addon that you may have added. I would uninstall firefox completely and test it. Then add my addon/plugins one at a time and test.
  9. I am with these guys too. You probably got a lemon there.....
  10. sounds to me that in your last Microsoft updates you installed the Office Genuine Advantage Tool. You can read about it HERE. It checks when you open any one of your office products to verify that you have a Genuine copy of office. If you copy of office is not genuine it will keep bugging you about it and it will eventually disable your Office applications. If you do have a valid copy of Office and know for a fact that your copy is legit, then contact Microsoft to get it sorted out. The office genuine tool as far as I know can not be un-installed.
  11. I for one do not like to update my drivers from the Microsoft Update Site, especially my video driver. Go to the Nvidia web site and download the current driver for your video card, then test again. Let us know how it goes.

  14. Hello camh, and welcome to Malwarebytes.org When you clicked on view results, how many infections did it fine. It is possible that the malware is closing out the MBAM so that you can not clean the system. Or it could just be that you need to re-install your MBAM program. Try these steps to see if it helps. Do step one first, and it that does not correct your issue, then do step 2. Step 1 Please try this on the computer that is having an issue. 1. Uninstall Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware using Add/Remove programs in the control panel. 2. Restart your computer (very important). 3. Download and run this utility. mbam-clean.exe 4. It will ask to restart your computer (please allow it to). 5. After the computer restarts, install the latest version from here. mbam-setup.exe Note: You will need to reactivate the program using the license you were sent Launch the program and set the Protection and Registration. Then go to the UPDATE tab if not done during installation and check for updates. Restart the computer again and verify that MBAM is in the task tray and that you can run a quick scan and all is working as expected. Step 2 We don't work on Malware removal in the general forums. 16. When you ran Malwarebytes did you do a quick scan or a full scan. Did you run the scan on that drive. Looks like hard drive corruption to me, or hard drive failure. Have you ran a checkdisk on that drive? You can follow the below instructions changing the drive letter to the drive letter of your external hard drive. For example C: drive to E: drive Please run a Disk Check on your C: drive: Click Start and open My Computer Right-click on C: and select Properties Click on the Tools tab Under Error-checking click the Check Now... button Mark the box next to Automatically fix file system errors and Scan for and attempt recovery of bad sectors When the message box pops up, click the Schedule disk check button and restart your computer Once the disk check completes after a reboot, go ahead and try scanning again to see if it works this time. If it does not then proceed with the following to see if it corrects it: Windows XP: Click on Start and select Control Panel Open Add/Remove Programs Uninstall Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware Restart your computer very important Download and run mbam-clean.exe from here It will ask to restart your computer, please allow it to do so very important After the computer restarts, temporarily disable your Anti-Virus and install the latest version of Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware from here Note: You will need to reactivate the program using the license you were sent Launch the program and set the Protection and Registration. Then go to the UPDATE tab if not done during installation and check for updates. Restart the computer again and verify that MBAM is in the task tray. Now setup any file exclusions as may be required in your Anti-Virus/Internet-Security/Firewall applications and restart your Anti-Virus/Internet-Security applications. You may use the guides posted in the FAQ's here or ask me and I'll explain how to do it. Windows Vista and Windows 7: Click on the Start Orb and select Control Panel Click on Programs and Features Uninstall Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware Restart your computer very important Download and run mbam-clean.exe from here It will ask to restart your computer, please allow it to do so very important After the computer restarts, temporarily disable your Anti-Virus and install the latest version of Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware from here Note: You will need to reactivate the program using the license you were sent Launch the program and set the Protection and Registration.
