Many Thanks

Recommended Posts

Just used Malwarebytes to remove Personal Shield Pro from a friends computer (Windows XP)and it worked a treat. Many thanks, I have one very happy friend now :D

I would like to add though that the installation instructions could do with amending slightly as even renaming the setup file to explorer.exe as recommended didn't work as the piece of c@@p that is PSP blocked another file in the setup process (mbam.tmp)so had to install Malwarebytes in safe mode.

Once installed, I rebooted back into normal mode, changed the .exe file name to explorer.exe as per the instructions and everything worked as advertised from then on. :D :D

i'd like to second that thanks.............i had used the free malwarebyts a couple months ago to rid my computer of something else,,,, so when i got infectd with the "personal shield pro" malware last night, malwarebytes was my first choice. i also figured, that for the minimal cost involved, i would just pony up the $$ and buy the full version.....:)

  • 3 months later...

MBAM has saved my butt plenty of times!

Mine too! I started out as a free home user, then talked my boss into getting a corporate license for the office, and now I have purchased it for me and my family. I also recommend to everybody and I tell them to spend the money and go pro it's worth it!

Malwarebytes is quite amazing, and it has definitely saved a few computers that I have worked on for family and friends.

I have the PRO version combined with a good AV & a hosts file on my computer, and I haven't gotten infected for quite some time... :)
