Wah.. I decided to check with 32-bit and 32-bit Slimjet works.. No problem at all. So, all please check with 32-bit Chrome (Slimjet being based on Chrome engine, Chrome 32-bit also should work, anyway I will also check Chrome too).. Phew.. that was really a find.. @Pedro, the problem now seems to be isolated to 64-bit Chrome.. Hope this helps..

The Driver after getting all of Pope John Paul's luggage loaded into the limo (and he doesn't travel light), noticed that the Pope was still standing on the curb. "Excuse me, Your Eminence," said the driver, "Would you please take your seat so we can leave?" A SQL query walks into a bar and sees two tables. He walks up to them and says' Can I join you?' Two atoms were walking down the street. One atom says to the other one, "I've lost an electron! The 2nd atom replies, "Are you sure?" Says the 1st atom, "I'm positive." ---------------------------------- Once upon a midnight dreary, fingers cramped and vision bleary, system manuals piled high and wasted paper on the floor, longing for the warmth of bed sheets, still I sat there, doing spreadsheets. Having reached the bottom line, I took a floppy from the drawer. Typing with a steady hand, I then invoked the "save" command and waited for the disk to store, only this and nothing more. Deep into the monitor peering, long I sat there wond'ring, fearing while the disk kept churning, turning yet to churn some more. "Save!" I said, "You cursed mother! Save my data from before!" One thing did the phosphors answer only this and nothing more, just, "Abort, Retry, Ignore?" With my fingers pale and trembling, slowly toward the keyboard bending, longing for a happy ending, hoping all would be restored, Praying for some guarantee, timidly I pressed a key. But on the screen there still persisted, words appearing as before. Ghastly grim they blinked and taunted, haunted, as my patience wore, saying, "Abort, Retry, Ignore?" There I sat, distraught, exhausted; by my own machine accosted. Getting up, I turned away, and paced across the office poor. And then I saw a dreadful sight: a lightning bolt cut through the night. A gasp of horror overtook me, shook me to my very core. The lightning zapped my previous data, lost and gone forevermore. Not even, "Abort, Retry, Ignore?"

Use of 9-cell Battery in 6-cell bays or vice versa..

@David, you ought to change with times/trends, not for me.. It would be sad to see you, take a stand, which could hit the interest of users.. -
Use of 9-cell Battery in 6-cell bays or vice versa..

With SMS a part & parcel of life, the messaging culture finding it's way in, into other communication modes is well accepted.. I have never said that weight has to do with compatibility, but about laptop going heavier with additional cells in place and in turn the inconvenience in carrying/lugging it around.. What i tried to convey, is that whether it's 6/9/12 cells, it would still fit in but with extensions/projections with 9/12 cells (6 cells in the normal bay and 3/6 below, which could cause the laptop to be in raised position, when rested).. Also, with Form factor literally unique to make/model, unless the manufacturer has also designed the higher rating batteries arrangement, for the given form factor, the option to go for higher battery rating may not exist.. And, even if the manufacturer has designed the extended battery setup's too, if they are not much in demand, like in my case, the 12 cell option is not freely available and no wonder, users are left un-awares.. -

On checking further, acknowledge that Form factor does have a say in compatibility for a given laptop make & model.. I find that the 9-cell & 12 cell will hv extensions and keep laptop raised from normal (as in my Laptop model Acer 4736z) and in turn heavier to lug/carry the laptop..Then one has to decide whether it's longer battery backup or economy & other factors to go with.. -

On the form factor, what I found is. A 6-cell battery may be the same form factor as a 9-cell, but the 6-cell will weigh less since there’s less chemical in it to hold onto that charge. So, for a given form factor, one can go for the battery rating of his choice (6/9/12 cells).. there is no hard & fast rule as far as voltage r concerned, as some manufacturers go by 3.6 v/cell and some by 3.7 v/cell (for my 6-cell battery I find 10.8v & 11.1 v, which r one & the same).. Thamks @David.. -

Tks @DD1..Hmm.. I never knew abt 12 cell compatability, since can be seen from laptop specs, mentions abt. 4400 mAh (ie for 6 cells) only. Now, on to my query with a 6-cell norm, will it suite 9/12 cells for all? If, not, what could be the reason? -
I use Acer 4736z laptop (nearly 5 yrs old), with 6-cell battery, which us said to be good for 9-cell use too. Since, I think 6-cells r the norm, will 9-cell use apply for all? if, it is not so, what could be the reason fir it? Tks. in advance.
