  1. I have brand new DELL computer. I've been using Google Chrome without a problem. Malwarebytes keeps popping up notification that free update should be installed. After I did it, Google Chrome is running very slow. And when I tried opening a PDF file, it would not open. And I keep getting this error message now (see attachment). I tried Microsoft Edge browser and that is working very quickly. I'm not a technical guy but can someone help me?
  2. Hello, first time posting so please excuse any formatting mistakes. So somehow I got segurazo today, managed to remove most of it thanks to jumping into paranoia mode as soon as i saw something. Managed to remove facemoods and conduit as well which had been bothering me for a long time. All these thanks to adwcleaner 8 and Malwarebytes. Now there is this persistent chrome extension showing up in adwcleaner classified as a PUP.Optional.Legacy but i can't find it anywhere and when i quarantine it, it shows up again every time i launch chrome. Attached is my latest AdwCleaner scan log. It seems to be a chromium derivative but i can't seem to find any traces of chromium left-overs from today's blunder. Thanks in advance for any help. My job is on the line. AdwCleaner[S08].txt

Please view Support Ticket 2785602. It's been recommended by a Malwarebytes employee to post in this forum. Three weeks ago the last statement from Malwarebytes employee was " They do know where the problem lies, it's now a matter of finding a way to work with Chrome and how it loads Extensions". Running Chrome 80.0.3987.132 and AOL web on startup with Windows 10, for quite a while there is quite a delay with Chrome opening on restart or boot up using Browser Guard 2.1.9 compared to other ad blockers extensions. Any updates or information will be extremely appreciated! I must state the Support I've received and continue to receive is excellent and like no other.
  4. This is the same issue as seen in the thread https://forums.malwarebytes.com/topic/255081-loginhelperco/ This is for a user who keeps getting notifications (windows notifications). She does not have any questionable Chrome extensions and she hadn't even had her Chrome open when she got this notif. The parent PID points to Chrome but it must be something else since not everybody gets these kinds of notifications in the org.
  5. Hi I have the free version of Malware Bytes, running on a Windows 8 laptop. I have scanned the PC a couple of times this month and each time I get about 30 optional.PUP messages. I have quarantined all but they keep coming back. TXT file attached. I am assuming they are not a big problem but why do they keep appearing and what can I do to remove them? Many thanks John Pup.txt
  6. Hello, suddenly every time that i launch google chrome, it opens a second tab to ownza.com/featured. I ran a malwarebytes scan and found nothing. Also tried it in safe mode and found nothing. Windows security also couldn't find anything. How do i get rid of this?
  7. I'm testing my website and viewing other pages from a hotel and I'm intermittently getting a website blocked message from Malwarebytes. Any further information on this? I'm concerned it's connected with my web page. 9. I have tried, (seemingly), every method to rid my computer of a browser redirect virus. Chrome's "clean-up" doesnt detect anything, and neither does the malwarebyte scanner. The virus doesnt appear to act like any other i've seen or read about. Google is still the default browser, and is only redirected when i click on a link provided by a google search. In which case, a new window is opened with the link, with the original window turning into a yahoo search result with the original search. Again, i have tried restoring windows, uninstalling chrome completely, scanning with both chrome tools and malwarebytes, but have come to no avail.
  10. I signed in to Chrome on my work computer and started getting that on my home computer as well. I was recently let go and signed out on my work PC, but chrome STILL says it's managed by my organization. How can I get rid of that? I don't want my former employer to be able to add/remove extensions at will.
  11. My MalwareBytes Browser Guard for Chrome keeps crashing and thus getting disabled, and I have to manually re-enable it.
  12. I'm curious about what this is.....after Windows 10 update today, this popped up. Any comments would be appreciated. A scan showed no threats detected.
  13. Malwarebytes tells me through scans that PUP files are present in google chrome, and when quarantined then removed they return quickly. I installed chrome on a new laptop recently and the PUP files are detected on that as well now- so concerned that the issue is with my account. I have attached the most recent scan results on my laptop. Would appreciate any help as is concerning me. RESULTS.txt
  14. Everyday I get a notice regarding "C:\USERS\Named User\APPDATA\LOCAL\GOOGLE\CHROME\USER DATA\Default\Web Data" and that it's been quarantined as a pup I've searched on it, and only found that version 3 was suppose to get along better with Chrome How do I A: stop chrome from making the file? or B: preclude it from scanning
  15. Hi, Is there a way to get rid of PUP.OPTIONAL.DREGOL permanently? Detected on Chrome during all MB scans. Quarantine, deletion and still present but stopped by MB premium. Nothing appears for Edge or Firefox ... Thank you
  16. I'm using MX Linux 18.3, Google Chrome Version 77.0.3865.75, and Browser Guard Version 2.0.2 If I try to open this extension, Google Chrome closes (crashes).
  17. Hi there, I have an infection on my PC from pup.optional.searchmanager. MWB is showing up 3 files in GOOGLE\CHROME\USER DATA\Default\Secure Preferences and 1 registry value in GOOGLE\CHROME\PREFERENCEMACS\Default\extensions.settings I've tried all the methods in this post (sign out / reset sync / reset Chrome / deleting all other search engines in Chrome), but they keep showing back up. I've also tried AdWCleaner. It seems to find / quarantine / delete the files but they always show up again in the next scan. Also, I have another PC synced up to the same Chrome account and it's fine, there's nothing showing up on MWB scan on that one. Files attached. Any help would be appreciated 👍 Shaun Addition.txt FRST.txt MWBScanResult.txt
  18. I've started getting Windows notifications that the site cloud1.pw has been updated in the background on Chrome. Have run adware cleaner and it found 1 registry link for a video downloader I use and something to do with banggood but nothing else. Very disappointed that nothing was picked up by my paid version of malwarebytes but more importantly how do I get rid of it?
  19. OS: Windows 7 Professional 64 Bit Google Chrome 64Bit Version 75.0.3770.142 Chrome Function "delete cookies by search" By input the first signs to search cookies for deletion chrome was terminated. After restart of chrome I tried this again, and chrome was terminated oncemore. After this I closed Malewarebytes 3.8.3 and then the described function works well. Then I have started Malwarebytes again. The whole descibed precedure with error in Malwarebytes I had 2 times: Yesterday and today (just before some minutes). In the old Version of Malwarebytes there was not such an error. I Hope you will find the problem.
  20. Hi Guys, I am recentky starting to see my CPU usage spiking to 70 80% for no reasing I have the latest malwarebytes premium 3.8.3 and ran a full system scan and everything seems to be fine however, when I checked in the task manager there is this elevation_service.exe sometimes comes up as chrome elevation service hammering my cpu and slowing it to the point where it takes a good 30 seconds to open a folder only. I have googled and found out that it has to do something with Google Chrome update service. But, after following a tutorial I that I will include here for reference it does go away however, after reboot it comes back? ** It does actually drive me crazy But I cannot figure out what it is, I have located the file and it is in my Chrome folder which freaked me out as I have a lot of saved passwords in Chrome and history synced any chance this is a virus or just my Window is going mad? I am running Windows 10 Pro. I have tried going into safe mode and deleting it from there too, BUT when I boot normally it is there again and it only comes backup as soon as I fire up chrome again, please do excuse my English grammar. Any help is appreciated, thank you.

  23. Hey all. For weeks now, Malwarebytes has been warning me that chrome has outbound adware that it is blocking. The program is techsuperb.biz. I can't find how to remove it. Malwarebytes AdwCleaner hasn't found it either. Any help?
  24. Hey guys, hopefully, this issue seems simple to the guys who are really good at getting rid of malware and what not. A few weeks ago, my laptop would work fine for about 15 or so minutes then when I try visiting ANY websites that weren't Google and YouTube, I would get a long loading time followed by a blank screen that says "Chrome took too long to respond". Now, every since yesterday morning, that 15 minutes has gone down to like 2 minutes. I barely have any time to scroll the internet because the Chrome message from before pops up and/or the page freezes and becomes unresponsive. I imagine this has something to do with malware and what not. Can someone help me, please? I can download JRT, MalwareBytes, ComboFix or anything else I may need to fix this problem. Thank you so much!
  25. Recently I have noticed that each time a "person" is added to my Chrome setup, multiple warnings are issued as some programs are silently installing Chrome extensions. While some of them are easily ascribable, one particularly is not: Tampermonkey. I can't find the programs that keeps installing this extension.... Any clue? (I have run Malwarebytes & adwcleaner....)
