How to reformat sata hard-drive without reformating pc
Firefox replied to kangaroo's topic in General Windows PC Help
@ andrwekevin is your computer not booting in normal mode either? Was it or did it have any signs of an infection? There is malware out there that will cause both of these issues you are talking about. Please answer these questions along with the following: 1. Computer Model and Manufacture 2. Windows Version including Service Pack 3. Antivirus software used (or any other security software like firewalls) After we get the answer to those questions we may be able to help you further. -
I am glad it worked for you, if you have any other issues or questions don't hesitate to ask.
-
I am with YoKenny1 on this one, you should really consider updating to SP3, not only is it a security fix, but there are also some enhancements in SP3 that could actually increase the performance of your computer.

MBAM_ERROR_FILE_SCAN (0,14)
Firefox replied to lhil081's topic in Malwarebytes for Windows Support Forum
Hello lhil081, It could be the malware causing MBAM to lock up or give you this error. Please read the following so that you can begin the cleaning process: We don't work on Malware removal in the general forums. Please read and follow the directions here, skipping any steps you are unable to complete. Then post a NEW topic here. One of the expert helpers there will give you one-on-one assistance when one becomes available. Please note that it may take 48 hours or more for you to receive a response in the malware removal forum, as it is often busy at times. Please do not reply to your own post asking for help unless its been more than 48 hours since you originally posted, as this can make it appear as though you are being helped and take longer for you to get help. If you are unable to do all or any of the steps in the link to the directions above, just post your problem into the forum I gave you a link to anyway and someone will be able to assist you. Alternatively, as a paying customer, you can contact the help desk at support@malwarebytes.org If you are a corporate customer please send an email to corporate-support@malwarebytes.org. (NOTE: An order number is required for corporate support.) Also, when replying, please use the "ADD REPLY" button or erase what the person you are replying to said, as this makes the forum easier to read. After posting your new post make sure under options that you select Track this topic and choose one of the Email options so that you're alerted when someone has replied to your post. Thank you -

Does your Norton have that add-on for Parental Controls and Privacy settings, if it does, that is a know issue/conflict with MBAM. Try to disable that feature (especially if you don't use it). Also enter the below exceptions to your AV. Please exclude the following files from your antivirus: Note: If using a software firewall besides the built in Windows Firewall you'll need to exclude them from it as well For Windows XP: C:\Program Files\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\mbam.exe C:\Program Files\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\mbamgui.exe C:\Program Files\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\mbamservice.exe C:\Program Files\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\zlib.dll C:\Program Files\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\mbam.dll C:\Program Files\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\mbamext.dll C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Malwarebytes\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\rules.ref C:\Windows\System32\drivers\mbam.sys C:\Windows\System32\drivers\mbamswissarmy.sys For Windows Vista or Windows 7: C:\Program Files\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\mbam.exe C:\Program Files\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\mbamgui.exe C:\Program Files\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\mbamservice.exe C:\Program Files\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\zlib.dll C:\Program Files\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\mbam.dll C:\Program Files\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\mbamext.dll C:\ProgramData\Malwarebytes\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\rules.ref C:\Windows\System32\drivers\mbam.sys C:\Windows\System32\drivers\mbamswissarmy.sys For 64 bit versions of Windows Vista or Windows 7: C:\Program Files (x86)\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\mbam.exe C:\Program Files (x86)\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\mbamgui.exe C:\Program Files (x86)\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\mbamservice.exe C:\Program Files (x86)\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\zlib.dll C:\Program Files (x86)\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\mbam.dll C:\Program Files (x86)\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\mbamext.dll C:\ProgramData\Malwarebytes\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\rules.ref C:\Windows\System32\drivers\mbam.sys C:\Windows\SysWoW64\drivers\mbamswissarmy.sys Note: If using a software firewall besides the built in Windows Firewall you'll need to exclude MBAM.EXE from it as well Note: Once that's done, please make sure that if either of those programs has any sort of web filter, that you add the following as a trusted site: data-cdn.mbamupdates.com The FAQ contains examples of setting file exclusions for some known AV products Please post back and let us know how it went. -

Hello and First things first.... Are you running Avira and MS Security Essentials at the same time. Having more than one anti-virus software running at the same time will cause issues..... -
Hello vilecomp, As Maurice Naggar has stated its a hard one to remove..... before a format, you could give the HJT section a try..... If you have utorrent on and running you will see all these blocks..... do you have it running? Also P2P software is a very good way to get your computer infected, you should be very careful with what you download, or really you should stay away from P2P software.

Hello CyberTeacher add "data-cdn.mbamupdates.com" (without the quotes) or if you firewall allows wild cards you can use: *.mbamupdates.com

Not in all cases is it a threat, like I said it depends if your other security software has disabled these due to the security software you have is already protecting those items. If you want to make sure your system is fully clean you could always follow these instructions: Please read the following so that you can begin the cleaning process: We don't work on Malware removal in the general forums. Realtime protection freezes computer
Firefox replied to TOM-J-LAEL's topic in Malwarebytes for Windows Support Forum
it could be up to 48 hours..... if you do not get any help by then, then send a PM to one of the administrators on this site. -
those two entities are there like you said, probably cause your other security firewall has disabled them. These should be safe to ignore. If you already quarantined them, that's OK too.
