Please try the following to see if it helps: Windows XP: Click on Start and select Control Panel Open Add/Remove Programs Uninstall Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware Restart your computer very important Download and run mbam-clean.exe from here It will ask to restart your computer, please allow it to do so very important After the computer restarts, temporarily disable your Anti-Virus and install the latest version of Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware from here Note: You will need to reactivate the program using the license you were sent via email if using the Pro version Launch the program and set the Protection and Registration. Then go to the UPDATE tab if not done during installation and check for updates. Restart the computer again and verify that MBAM is in the task tray if using the Pro version. Now setup any file exclusions as may be required in your Anti-Virus/Internet-Security/Firewall applications and restart your Anti-Virus/Internet-Security applications. You may use the guides posted in the FAQ's here or ask me and I'll explain how to do it.
  2. another reason for these popups could be coming from P2P software.... Are you runing any P2P software like Utorrent, Limewire and the like?

First run this full CheckDisk scan - Cut and paste this code into the Run box - It will restart your computer and run a full 5 stage check - Make sure all other programs are closed first - This takes about 30 mins , so let it run and it will check and repair most items - CMD /C ECHO Y|CHKDSK C: /R | SHUTDOWN /R /T 30 Then run sfc /scannow by using the same method as above - If you have your install CD/DVD place that in and run it while this is running - If there is no improvement then please post back - Thank You -

  12. Well since you were able to scan and it found no infections I would tend to say it is working. You can also try to re-install Malwarebytes to see if it clears up the error.
