Disable Internet Explorer Proxy Settings and Reset TCP/IP and Winsock Disable Internet Explorer Proxy Settings and Reset TCP/IP It is very important that these steps be carried out exactly as shown otherwise the fix will not work. If you have any questions please ask before moving on. Please start Notepad and using your mouse make sure you select and copy all the information below in the Code box into your new document. Then save the file as "fixme.bat" to your Desktop In the drop down box for Save as type: make sure you select All Files (*.*) and keep the quotes on the name as well. On Vista/Win7 you need to Right click the file and choose Run as administrator to run it. With User Account Control on it should ask permission to run it. Click Yes This will flash a black DOS box very quickly and go away, this is normal. Restart your computer now. Launch Internet Explorer and see if you can connect to the Internet. Launch MBAM and check for Updates
  2. Have you installed and updated Malwarebytes and ran a Quick Scan? Have you updated your Anti-Virus software and ran a scan with it? Are the scans clean?

  5. Glad it worked for you, but you are using quite an old version. Current version as I type this is Version 1.46 with database 4258. I suggest you update to the latest version. After you get the lastest version installed do a quick scan. Here are the instructions to get you updated to the latest version: Please try the following to see if it helps: Windows XP: Click on Start and select Control Panel Open Add/Remove Programs Uninstall Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware Restart your computer very important Download and run mbam-clean.exe from here It will ask to restart your computer, please allow it to do so very important After the computer restarts, temporarily disable your Anti-Virus and install the latest version of Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware from here Note: You will need to reactivate the program using the license you were sent via email if using the Pro version Launch the program and set the Protection and Registration. Then go to the UPDATE tab if not done during installation and check for updates. Restart the computer again and verify that MBAM is in the task tray if using the Pro version. Now setup any file exclusions as may be required in your Anti-Virus/Internet-Security/Firewall applications and restart your Anti-Virus/Internet-Security applications.   6. you have to put the copy of the file in the right place like listed in the instructions: ISSUE: I need to get the latest database onto a computer that cannot access the Internet. SOLUTION: You can manually copy the database from a working computer using a flash drive or CD onto the infected PC. Our database file is stored in the following locations. Windows XP and 2000 C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Malwarebytes\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\rules.ref Windows Vista and Windows 7: C:\ProgramData\Malwarebytes\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\rules.ref

  10. Hello semifamous, and thanks for your comments..... Help is found from within Malwarebytes.... With Malwarebytes Open, click on the About Tab and there you will see a Help button you can click on.... I don't know about your computer but all the ones I checked here on my end have the Malwarebytes program listed in the Add/Remove programs.... Not sure what you meant in the third section of you comments....
  11. You can update the database, see Section A Issue #4 LOCATED HERE Once you have updated using the above instructions, then run a quick scan see if you still come clean....

  13. Thanks for stepping in nosirrah, I know what I would do on my computer (but I know how to recover is something goes wrong)....
  14. As for removing the file, I am not sure myself as I have not come accross this file myself. You could wait to see what one of the experts suggest.
  15. Just to add, if the malware is called for example malware.exe and it gets detected as Trojan/Backdoor, then I go and rename the file to say freeware.exe, when the file gets scanned it will still be detected as Trojan/Backdoor. Hope that helps....
  16. Hello and Not sure if it may be a false positive or not. Try uploading the file to VirusTotal: http://www.virustotal.com/ and see if it comes back infected....

  19. If you look at the image below you will see in the Setting Tab, then under Scanner Settings that I have checked: Enable advanced heuristics engine. (Heuristics.Shuriken) so its already being used.
  20. Malwarebytes is not designed to be an Anti-Virus software or solution, it is designed to work hand in hand and compliment your anti-virus software, catching what the anti-virus software fails to detect. Malwarebytes is an anti-malware program used for detecting Malware.
  21. Not sure of that, but if you are using Torrents, then that will cause a lot of notification windows from IP blocker from malwarebytes blocking unsafe sites...... (a while back with a previous version I had this issue (during testing with utorrent) and it would lockup the IP blocker) I believe this has been corrected

  23. Hello you could always clean them, and reboot, should your keyboard not work afterwards you could always restore them back....
