  3. Microsoft Security Essentials will work with both the Free version or Pro version of Malwarebytes.... on some computers you may have to enter exceptions in your anti-virus software as stated in the FAQ HERE

  5. Hello and Lets make sure that Malwarebytes gets removed correctly, then we can re-install it. Once it is reinstalled, follow the instructions below to get the Malwarebytes files exclueded in your Avast Anti-virus.... Please do the following: Download and run mbam-clean.exe from here It will ask to restart your computer, please allow it to do so very important After the computer restarts, temporarily disable your Anti-Virus and install the latest version of Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware from here Note: You will need to reactivate the program using the license you were sent via email if using the Pro version Launch the program and set the Protection and Registration. Then go to the UPDATE tab if not done during installation and check for updates. Restart the computer again and verify that MBAM is in the task tray if using the Pro version. Now setup any file exclusions as may be required in your Anti-Virus/Internet-Security/Firewall applications and restart your Anti-Virus/Internet-Security applications. You may use the guides posted in the FAQ's here or ask and we'll explain how to do it. Now exclude the files below in your Avast Anti-Virus....   11. Glad to hear all is running smoothly.... Since you have windows XP Pro SP3 (32 bit), then you are correct they are located in the c:\windows\system32\drivers folder. I enter exclusions for all MBAM files in all anti-virus programs I install including those two files (even if there is no conflicts) just to be on the safe side (pro active maintenance if you will....)

  13. this depends, if you have windows 64bit edition the location is different, and you can add them as well, it will not hurt anything....

  17. No one program is 100% accurate, and with the way Malware is ever changing it hard to detect all items. As for detecting false positives, yes I have seen where Malwarebytes has detected something as a false positive but when reported they are quick to reply and come out with a fix, usually within a couple of hours. As for a BSOD, I have not seen it myself. I have seen some threads where folks have said that they ran Malwarebytes and then after a reboot caused a BSOD, but after reviewing logs it was found to be the infection had made changes to their systems that cause the BSOD's.... Posting in the HJT section, the users that have this issue can usually get it resolved with help from the experts. Hope that helps.

  21. sounds like we have plenty of ex-military folks here.... One of the most accurate and better weapons I got to fire was the M24 Sniper Weapon System also got a change to test fire the XM2010 pictured below....
