  1. @ Steven I'll just leave it for now I just uninstalled the Java, and now my USB drive is not being recognized, and access is denied. I did hit block on one thing on the firewall, so I took out the usb (after safely removing hardware) and tried again, same thing happened, but I didn't get a firewall request this time.
  2. @ Steven Rats. Thank you very much again for all of your help, I greatly appreciate it. Should I leave your program installed by the way?
  3. Thanks Steven. I'll go into the C drive and see if there is even a Comodo program files folder. EDIT: Well, there is a Comodo folder in the program files (I don't know why I didn't think of looking therein the first place, so thank you for directing me there) I am not seeing an uninstaller, though.
  4. @ TheSentinel That's okay. Remove them, then reboot if necessary. 9/10 is the newest date for the new VERSION, not the newest detection definitions. You may have to download the newest detection definitions after updating to the newest version, sometimes this happens. Then do a quick scan!! If you still need help, post in the forum that I gave you a link to in my first reply.
  5. Update: Steven is graciously helping me via PM in trying to uninstall this program. Steven, if you are reading this, I went into RegEdit, and there is NO comodo under that string. I am so frustrated. Thank you SO much for all of your help, hopefully we can figure this out eventually.
  6. @ Nosirrah, I didn't even notice that he was so behind, thanks for pointing that out! @ TheSentinel Please run a quick scan... remove whatever it finds, reboot if it asks, and then run a full scan if you wish!
  7. @ Sho-dan Thank you! Thanks to you and Jacktivity, run is now on the start menu
  8. Welcome to the forum, TheSentinel Please post your log and everything that you said in your post here: http://www.malwarebytes.org/forums/index.php?showforum=7 this is the only place that logs will be worked on. Someone will be along to assist you as soon as possible. Please be patient though, as there are many people waiting for help. If you do not get a reply within 48 hours, please feel free to "bump" up your post. You'll be in good hands! And good luck
  9. @ Jacktivity Thank you very much for your response I would most certainly redownload and reinstall on top of the program to try and get it to work to uninstall that way, but this computer is on Dial up, I'd have to download it at home, and bring it over on my flash drive. There is no way I could do that from this computer, I imagine the file would be quite large. edit: No, nothing remotely looking at all like Comodo is in the Start>All Programs Thank you again.
  10. @ Steven thank you thank you THANK YOU!! :) You are a lifesaver!! I hope I can get everything done, thanks to this program not showing itself to be uninstalled I wasted quite a bit of time trying to figure it out prior to posting here.
  11. @ Steven Thanks :) Should I go with Basic, full, or no install, and are the #1, #2, #1 under Site? the correct place to download it from?
  12. Thank you Steven!! I was just was getting so frustrated, and I was unable to do this two weeks ago too... Are those files large though? I'm on dial up here :/
  13. Update: Note If the program that you want to uninstall is not listed, it might not have been written for this version of Windows. To uninstall the program, check the information that came with the program. But the help in the program is completely useless... it will NOT search for some reason... argh.
  14. thanks noknojon I can't figure out where "run" is on Vista though If I can't figure this out then I won't be able to do this again for two weeks I think. Thanks for that though, I am looking at it right now
  15. I am trying to uninstall comodo internet security with no luck on a Vista Home Basic and I don't see anything comodo related in the programs in the control panel except comodo safe surf. I need to remove comodo internet security so I can run the AVPTool from Kaspersky and so I can install Avira. I tried searching their forums but it is of no help that I can see. and the help feature in the user interface is useless... it won't search after I type the keyword. There is also nothing in all programs and all I have is the icon to launch the program... but nothing to uninstall it with! I tried searching for it via the search feature in the computer, but nothing was found. any ideas? I have to get this done today... :/
  16. Thank you much! :) I was just downloading a fresh copy of Avira after the Kaspersky tool... and off I am!
  17. @ mona & Exile Sorry, I should have clarified; I meant KIS (thats Kaspersky Internet Security, right?). @ Exile Well, downloading the scanner & off I am Wish me luck I have a lot to do :/ Hopefully I get it all done and don't screw up anything. And hopefully its not a mess, heh.
  18. Thanks for the link, Ron But gosh, they haven't even rolled out Windows 7 yet, its still a little less than a month away Hmm, do you know of anywhere that we could see a screen shot of what the desktop of the system will look like (I don't mean the actual desktop box, just to clarify). I am very curious to know what it looks like, especially since I heard it might not have a start menu
  19. @ srtools1980y good idea! @ Exile How true
  20. @ Exile Yeah, it was three for that price unless I missed something, which is possible lol. It's worth it either way, but I hate to pay that for three if I only use one license, heh. If I purchase KAV, I would give one to my family, and one to a friend, and use the other myself of course If I go with Avira, I'll opt for the three license anyway though, so I can give one to my family. That's good to know that KAV can be set up to handle most things automatically. Having the control is a great thing, though, I agree, even though I don't know much about it heh. Whatever I go with, I will go with an Internet Suite because I like the built-in firewall, especially because I have learned on this forum that the XP firewall is not sufficient heh.
  21. @ Exile I actually wanted to get them Kaspersky (as far as I can see on the website, you can't purchase a license for one machine, its 3 at once at minimum), and I was thinking about getting it for my system when my AVG runs out. However, did you say somewhere that Kaspersky requires more user knowledge than most other AV's? I wouldn't want to install it on their system if this is the case, they wouldn't know what to do with it.
  22. @ Falkra That's alright. Sometimes it is necessary to quote Alright, thanks I'll go with the default settings then, and tell them if they aren't sure to quarantine, quarantine, quarantine! Yeah, that's probably what it is. I was just really really bummed that day because, this computer really really needed a better AV asap and I had deleted my copy of Avira from a week prior to download a fresh copy, and the servers were down until it was too late for me to go... and because of the distance and my schedule, I was not able to make it again until today... I was going to do it two weeks ago but Firefox took so long to update, and I thought that that should be updated too. (the system in question has dial-up, which is why I am downloading everything onto a thumb drive). Thanks again for your feedback, I appreciate it.
