  1. Adding exclusions usually takes care of any potential problems that may arise between Mbam and your antivirus program
  2. I just counted, mine took about 15 seconds, normally it's at least 10 I think, although I haven't really counted before. It doesn't bother me personally and I don't mind waiting, but I can see how it could be frustrating.
  3. Just wanted to add my feedback here, I hardly notice Mbam running in the background at all; all I need to see is the little red and white M in the tasktray to tell me I'm protected
  4. @YoKenny1 Love the cat picture, hehehe!
  5. Investing in Malwarebytes would be a great decision. I know that I will never go without it again!
  6. hehe I watched my phone go from 1:59 am to 3:00 a.m... haha Our atomic alarm clock is still on the old schedule and every six months it changes the time on us early... lol

  8. I have been thinking about buying a printer lately, but I am not sure what I should go with. I've used an HP printer/scanner/copier combo in the past and it worked well, but I don't know if we have space for it (well if I clear my junk off the desk, we might ). I just want a simple printer that I can print documents and photos from mostly, but one with a built in scanner/copier would be cool too. My other half has a printer that he used with his Windows 98 computer but he apparently doesn't have the installation CD for it so I have no idea if it will work with this computer or not... Suggestions, ideas, etc... are welcome
  9. You haven't really broken any rules (at least as far as I am aware of), it just makes things more difficult for your helpers and for you. If you were trying to get malware removal help at two different forums though, that would be a big no-no, because that could potentially screw up your system getting help from two different people not to mention make your helpers work much, much more difficult. Well, see what they have to say over there, it seems like they might be getting somewhere... and I'll check back on this post tomorrow and your other post. And like I said, I don't know too much yet but I was trying to figure this out because I thought I might be able to. I'll see if someone else here can help you, as I am at a loss now. Everything I found seemed to be related to something else or a different problem. One more question though, are you having trouble copying and pasting files from folder to folder? Do a little test, make some test files in Word Pad or Word or something, and make a couple new folders, and move the files around and see if you get any error messages. And.or try to move an existing file from one folder to another, such as a picture.
  10. K. I think there is a way, but I honestly don't know how to do it. I don't know much but I am trying, and I thought I may have figured it out but it seems like your situation is different than the solutions I have found. I'll find someone that can help you and knows more than I do While researching for a solution, I found another post you made over at another forum, do you want to go forward with getting help there or here? It's not a good idea to be getting help in two forums simply because getting help in both can make your helpers job more difficult not to mention something could get messed up on your computer if you are working with two different people... Let me know
  11. Hmm sounds like something got messed up on your folder settings... I don't necessarily think that this had anything to do with it, but, have you used any registry cleaners or something similar prior to this happening?
  12. Hmm. Well HAVE you had a recent malware infection that you know of? I've been trying to do some research on your issue but I am not having much luck nailing down a cause for your specific situation. Did you save HJT into the downloads folder that you are trying to use or did you save it to the desktop?
  13. Hmm. Have you changed any settings in Internet Explorer by any chance?
  14. Is your computer a fresh, new Vista or did you upgrade from XP?
  15. Most likely this is not a Malware issue Might anyone else have changed any settings on the computer? Also, is this a 64 bit or a 32 bit system?
  16. hey there gpgamer Please use the "ADD REPLY" button at the bottom of the page when replying. Did you make any changes to folder settings (in general, I don't mean just to this folder) when this started happening? When did this start happening, and do you remember changing anything in between when this wasn't happening and when it began?
  17. Hi gpgamer, and welcome to Malwarebytes.org Are you getting any error numbers or is the message you wrote the complete error?
  18. Yes, Norton is a lot better than it used to be
  19. Definitely sounds suspicious to me! The call was totally out of the blue, correct? I did find a website, but the website is down or partially down for a bit. Not blocked by any of my security software, so that's a good sign at least. http://www.google.com/#hl=en&ei=mZ6WS-...d121c88310e67e3 I looked at the first hit and the third hit (not the sponsored link of course). No telling if the website though if it is affiliated with the phone call or not, unless he has caller ID?
  20. It's probably possible, but you'd want to do a clean install, and keep it off the internet
  21. @YoKenny1 I'm glad to hear that they are working on it, and it seems as though its been resolved for the newest release then? Kudos to you too for sticking through and keeping on top of it over there too and making them aware of it
