Hello SusanH:

It was not absolutely clear that you did or did not use mbam-clean.exe during the re-install process. If you did not, please follow the procedures below. Thank you. :)

Please do a MBAM clean re-install by doing the following:

  1. Download and run the latest mbam-clean.exe.
  2. Restart your computer, please allow it to do so - VERY IMPORTANT!
  3. Disable your Anti-Virus and install the latest version of Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware from here.
  4. Reactivate the PRO version of the program, if applicable, using the license within the boxed version or was sent via email.
  5. Launch the program and set the Protection and Registration, if applicable. Then go to the UPDATE tab if not done during installation and check for updates.
  6. Restart the computer again and verify that MBAM is in the task tray if using the PRO version.
  7. Setup any process/folder/file exclusions as may be required in your Anti-Virus/Internet-Security/Firewall applications and restart your Anti-Virus/Internet-Security applications. You may use the guides posted in the FAQ's here or ask and we'll explain how to do it.

Please use the "ADD REPLY" Add-Reply.png button instead of other ones when you start replying.

Please let us know if & how you succeeded. :)

Hello SusanH:

Please download Oldtimer's latest OTL.exe to your Desktop.

To Download/Run OTL:

  • Download the most recent OTL.exe from
here and do not sandbox.
With administrator privilege, run OTL.exe. Make sure all other windows are closed and let it run uninterrupted.
OTL should now launch. Change only the following settings:

Change Drivers to:
All
.

Change Standard Registry to:
All
.

Under File Scans, check that
File Age
is
30 Days
.

Click the
Run Scan
button. Do not change any other settings unless otherwise told to do so. The scan shouldn't take long.

When the scan completes, it will open two Notepad windows. OTL.Txt and Extras.Txt (first run only). These are saved in the same location as OTL.exe
Please attach these 2 files in your next reply.

Please use the Add-Reply.png button instead of other ones when you start replying. :)

Thank you for your patience. :)

The error 1072 is due to a service being marked for removal but the system has either not been rebooted or some other process prevented the removal process on reboot.

Almost guaranteed that your file exclusions for your Anti-Virus are not setup correctly.

Go ahead and run the OTL scanner and also run this scanner and post back the results please.

Download
DDS
and save it to your desktop

Disable any script blocker if your Anti-Virus/Anti-Malware has it.

Once downloaded you can disconnect from the Internet and disable your Ant-Virus temporarily if needed.

Then double click
dds.scr
to run the tool.

When done, the
DDS.txt
will open.

Click Yes at the next prompt for Optional Scan.

When done, DDS will open two (2) logs:

  1. DDS.txt

  2. Attach.txt

  • Save both reports to your desktop
  • Please include the following logs in your next reply:
    DDS.txt
    and
    Attach.txt

Hello Susan,

You have quite a few minor issues with the system and if you look at the events log in your attach.txt file you'll see that other programs are failing as well due to these errors.

Basically you can use some good general cleaning of the PC. This can take a few days and a lot of time which I'm willing to assist you if you like but you need to be able to stay with it as I can't spend weeks on this either.

If you're willing and want assistance to do so please let me know and we'll proceed.
