whats a tracking cookie

I know what a cookie is but malware bytes detected tracking cookie and removed it i usually google things when i dont understand but they explain it in a way that seems complicated sooo i just wanted to knoe the easy answer.......

Are you sure about that Kangaroo? As far as I understand Malwarebytes doesn't detect or remove tracking cookies because they are not malicious. They prefer to concentrate on 'real' malware. Did you mean another utility, or a different type of detection?

(I'm sure a staff member will correct me about this if I'm wrong about that?)

If you want to remove Tracking Cookies you can use SUPERAntiSpyware free edition -

You can also just block the buggers, either with a browser plugin, security settings, or using the Immunize function in Spybot Search & Destroy along with the Cookie blocking function in Spywareblaster .

Removing tracking cookies after the fact is pretty useless as they've most likely already served their purpose, blocking them to begin with or removing them immediately after visiting a site that puts one on your system is the only way to prevent it from being used to track the sites you've visited.
