Greyed Out Ignore List

Good Morning, I was going to add a program to the ignore list for the Guard, and I found it greyed out so that I can't use it in the config menu. It is also greyed when I right click the running program icon. It was fine when I added something a few days ago. Any ideas?

That isn't it in my case.

I have only one account and it is set as administrator. Any other thoughts?

Was an item detected as a threat and you're trying to have Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware ignore it or is it simply a program you want to exclude from being scanned? If it is the latter, then unfortunately Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware doesn't currently have that capability.

If it's the former then please try the following from an administrative user account to see if it solves the problem:

Windows XP:

• Click on Start and select Control Panel
  
• Open Add/Remove Programs
  
• Uninstall Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware
  
• Restart your computer very important
  
• Download and run mbam-clean.exe from here
  
• It will ask to restart your computer, please allow it to do so very important
  
• After the computer restarts, temporarily disable your Anti-Virus and install the latest version of Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware from here
  
  • Note: You will need to reactivate the program using the license you were sent via email if using the Pro version
    
  • Launch the program and set the Protection and Registration. Then go to the UPDATE tab if not done during installation and check for updates.
    Restart the computer again and verify that MBAM is in the task tray if using the Pro version. Now setup any file exclusions as may be required in your Anti-Virus/Internet-Security/Firewall applications and restart your Anti-Virus/Internet-Security applications. You may use the guides posted in the FAQ's here or ask and we'll explain how to do it.

Hi,

I have the ignore feature working now. It took a complete shut down of my PC, then booting it. Restart didn't do it. So it just needed to be reset. I don't know why this happened, but things are fine now.

I see now that the ignore list works for websites and not for specific programs. When an address is blocked as potentially harmful, is there somewhere that I can look at to see what the numeric address is connected to? That way I can determine whether I want it blocked or not.

You can usually find information about blocked IP's and the websites they contain here .

You can also Cut and Paste the IP number into your browser and check the location and content -

IP blocking needs to be turned off to do this but it is not recommended -

I would not recommend directly accessing a blocked IP as noknojon suggested though, as many of the IP's we block contain active exploits, autodownload trjojans and other such threats. It's not a place you want to visit, that's why it's blocked.
