Windows 7 crashing MB totally

When I'm clicking on close on the popup window after doing a manually scan it crashes MB totally.

I can only get this in Windows 7. Tested Windows 10 and Windows 11 without crash when doing the steps.

Could you get logs from your Win 7 install.

Please do the following so that we may take a closer look at your installation for troubleshooting:

• Download the Malwarebytes Support Tool
• In your Downloads folder, open the mb-support-x.x.x.xxx.exe file
• In the User Account Control pop-up window, click Yes to continue the installation
• Run the MBST Support Tool
• In the left navigation pane of the Malwarebytes Support Tool, click Advanced
• In the Advanced Options, click Gather Logs. A status diagram displays the tool is Getting logs from your machine
• A zip file named mbst-grab-results.zip will be saved to your desktop, please upload that file on your next reply

I have not tested again in Windows 7. Sorry for the late response but when I have more time to test, I will send logs if this is still an issue.

@unknownguy was it a .NET JIT crash dialog which appeared?

Also, what version of Malwarebytes v5 do you have installed on your Windows 7 machine?

I get no errors, when doing this step the client freezes and then crashes.

I have looked inside event viewer and I get a .NET Runtime crash. I can post the logs here.

Malwarebytes Version: 5.0.3.44

Update package version: 1.0.64255

Log 0: mbst-grab-results.zip

Log 1: netcrash.txt

How did you get that update? I'm still on 5.0.2.39, CU 1.0.837. MWB shows 'Up-to-date' on checking for updates. (Bèta enabled)

I only downloaded the latest program. And installed.

The last time i downloaded the file was dec31. It must be updatet after that date. Anyway on the latest now. Thx.

We pushed a new Beta via in-app updates yesterday but before we did that, we pushed that new build as a full installer to the download link you've been using.

I just tried newest update on Windows 7. Scanned and clicked on cancel. And now it works. Thanks so much for this fix :)
