Open Network Connections (XP: Start Menu -> Run..., type in 'ncpa.cpl' and hit enter or Vista: Start Orbit -> Search box, type in 'ncpa.cpl' and hit enter). When i try to diagnose the problem through control panel>network center it says network adapter isn't there and perhaps i should download drivers from the manufacturer or download drivers from the dvd that came with the computer i tried both and both failed? its a build-in wireless adapter so something probably got deleted during the re-install? Firefox Posted October 19, 2009 ID:145528 Share Posted October 19, 2009 On dell laptops, the network adaptor gets disabled when you are using the laptop on battery. They do this to conserve battery power. You can change this in the Dell Control Point software. Or you could just plug it in and it will turn on the network card.Let me know if that helps.
