  1. Darn it. I'm late for the party, as usual. Happy Birthday Ade.
  2. Hi Master Qiang. Welcome to the Malwarebytes forums.
  3. Hello, You will need to supply a MBAM developer scan log and also attach the detected files to your post. For further details, please see here: http://forums.malwarebytes.org/index.php?showtopic=3228
  4. It is possible that there is still malware present on your computer. If you would like a malware removal expert to give you personal assistance, please print out, read and follow the directions here, skipping any steps you are unable to complete. Then post a NEW topic in the Malware Removal - HijackThis Logs forum here. If you cannot complete any of the steps, just post a NEW topic here and describe the problems you are having. One of the expert helpers there will give you one-on-one assistance when one becomes available. Please do not worry if you are not 'technically minded', the expert helpers will give you clear, concise instructions which are easy to follow. After posting your new post make sure under options that you select Track this topic and choose one of the Email options so that you're alerted when someone has replied to your post. Alternatively, as a paying customer, you can contact the help desk at support@malwarebytes.org If you follow the expert helper's instructions you should be up and running again pretty soon.
  5. Open Internet Explorer. Go to Tools > Internet Options > Connections > LAN settings If the proxy server box is ticked, un-tick it and try to connect to the internet again. If this does not work, or if you suspect that there is still malware present on the computer, please try to follow the instructions here as best you can: http://forums.malwarebytes.org/index.php?showtopic=9573
  6. Here you go. mbamupdates.com or, more specifically: data-cdn.mbamupdates.com
  7. Don't forget about the Googolbyte. A Googolbyte is 100,000,000,000,000,000,000 times bigger than a Yottabyte. http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=googolbyte
  8. Dammit, I thought we'd licked the problem there for a minute. Sorry about that. If I come up with anything else I'll be sure to let you know. I think it might be some kind of registry problem, but I can't seem to find out exactly where the source of it is.
  9. Thanks Firefox. I must admit though that it wasn't actually me that discovered this workaround. I spotted somewhere that a user tried this and it worked, so I'm really just passing on the information.
  10. Excellent news, Caske. I will pass it on to the support team.
  11. This error is proving very tricky to pin down. If you want to, there is one more thing you could try. Create a new account with Admin privileges. Install MBAM from the new account, then see if MBAM will work in your usual account. If it does work, you can then delete the new account that you created. If you do try this, please let me know how you get on.
  12. I completely agree with exile 360. Avira and MSE are excellent free AV products. Personally, I prefer to put MSE on my customers computers because it is completely free and doesn't flash up any nag screens etc. For paid protection, I also recommend ESET NOD32 for slower computers and Kaspersky for the modern faster computers. I an not keen on AVG because it doesn't pass all the Spycar tests. So, whilst it may be a sort of OK antivirus program, it's not going to be very effective if some 'Rogue' AV/AS product tries to take over your computer. Obviously I also recommend MBAM realtime protection in addition to an antivirus program for the best level of protection.
  13. That's a really nice retail box. I hope you can get it into PC World and Staples in the UK. They are on the TV all the time over here and I think they would sell a lot of boxes.
  14. What 'account' are you referring to? Do you mean your account on this forum?
  15. @ Lostuser and gtyhfy. XP has no 'Reset' option. But you can use the fix below for XP. 16. There is absolutely no problem with the licensing if you want to do that.
  17. At this stage, as nothing seems to be working, I think it would be a good idea to have one of the expert helpers check your system for possible undetected malware. Alternatively, as a paying customer, you can contact the help desk at support@malwarebytes.org If your system is found to be malware free, please make a new post in this forum to continue the troubleshooting process.
  18. OK, if MBAM still will not run even if you have disabled Comodo, Threatfire and Avira, we will try something experimental. Please try this: Click on Start and select Control Panel Open Add/Remove Programs Uninstall Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware Restart your computer very important Download and run mbam-clean.exe from here It will ask to restart your computer, please allow it to do so very important After the computer restarts, temporarily disable Comodo, Threatfire and Avira and download MBAM v1.44 from here (Click on Free user) Unzip the file and install MBAM v1.44. Start MBAM v1.44 then update to MBAM v1.46 using the 'Update' tab > 'Check for Updates' method. Note: You will need to reactivate the program using the license you were sent via email if using the Pro version Launch the program and set the Protection and Registration. Then go to the UPDATE tab if not done during installation and check for updates. Restart the computer again and verify that MBAM is in the task tray if using the Pro version. Now setup any file exclusions as may be required in your Anti-Virus/Internet-Security/Firewall applications and restart your Anti-Virus/Internet-Security applications. You may use the guides posted in the FAQ's here or ask me and I'll explain how to do it. Please let me know if anything has changed.
  19. Please try installing a new database by running this program: http://www.malwarebytes.org/mbam/database/mbam-rules.exe If MBAM will open and run, please try updating MBAM from the 'Update' tab > 'Check for Updates'. Let me know how you get on.
  20. Malwarebytes Anti-Malware will tell you whether or not it is necessary to reboot your computer after the scan is finished. NOTE: I am in malware removal training at the moment. And, as such, I am not permitted to give specific malware removal advice. What I have said so far is about the limit of what I am allowed to do. If you require help with a specific malware problem, please follow the instructions here: http://forums.malwarebytes.org/index.php?showtopic=9573 And make a post in malware removal section of the forum here: http://forums.malwarebytes.org/index.php?showforum=7
  21. No antivirus/antimalware product in existence can guarantee to remove all malware. But Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware is one of the world's best anti malware products.
  22. The free version of Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware never expires. You can use it for as long as you like. However the free version will only remove malware infections from your computer. It will not stop you from becoming infected. But the paid version also has a realtime protection module which can stop you from becoming infected in the first place.
