MB version differences

Recommended Posts

Hi,

Is there any difference between MB Premium and MB Endpoint Protection except the features related strictly to Nebula Platform? It seems that  MB Endpoint Protection started to participate in MRG Effitas tests and scored perfectly in all categories: In the Wild 360, Ransomware, Financial, PUA/Adware, Exploit/Fileless, Real Botnet, Financial malware simulator, False positive.

Hi @AndyU!! Great question!!

Outside of the Nebula platform specific features, Malwarebytes Endpoint Protection is the technical equivalent to Malwarebytes Premium.

Thanks. We talk about it on the Malwaretips forum in the thread about MRG Effitas latest test.

Malware Endpoint Protection was not tested as thoroughly as Malwarebytes Premium, so the opinion about Malwarebytes products was roughly based on the tests performed by AV-Test:

and SE Labs (table taken from 2020 Q4 Consumer report):

Although the MRG Effitas tests are different, some tested categories are similar (In the Wild 360, Ransomware, Financial, PUA/Adware), and there is significant disproportion of results.

We thought that the difference follows from the different protection of MB Premium and MB Endpoint Protection.

But it seems that testing procedures cannot correctly reflect the protection of MB Premium or MB Endpoint Protection. This is a very interesting topic because I noticed some anomalous testing results also for some other AVs (like Trend Micro):

It would be interesting if you could post something about MB protection in the thread:

Things are looking up for Malwarebytes -- as verified by independent testing.

Thanks to the larger team for continuing to improve the product.

And thanks for keeping your word (one of the very few companies that has done so..) with the lifetime license holders.

  • Thanks 1
