Hello and Welcome!

A custom scan can take several hours to run, depending on the settings you have set in Malwarebytes and the number of files on your computer, so that is probably normal.

A threat scan is normally all that is needed.

If you provide the requested logs in post number 2 above the team can assist you better.

Greetings,

I just checked all of the logs you provided and none of them show any detections, including the historical data logs and service logs which would show detections listed or at least the number of past detections even if the original scan log(s) from past detections had been deleted.

With all of that said, if an item was detected by a scan that you executed manually Malwarebytes would not remove it on its own.  You would have to review the results of the scan and determine how it handles any detected items.  If you ran the clean uninstall function in the Malwarebytes Support Tool before posting here for assistance then it is possible that there was some detection in the past that isn't showing up in the logs, however if that is the case then there is no way for us to find out what it was or what happened to it.

I didn’t run the clean uninstall

I'm not sure what it could have been then and I don't know any way of finding out.  That said, if you are concerned that you may be infected with some kind of threat then you may follow the instructions in this topic and create a new topic in the malware removal area including the requested logs and information by clicking here and one of our malware removal specialists will assist you in checking your system for threats and removing any that are found.

Yes, unfortunately for a full/custom scan that's pretty normal (depending on how much data is on your drives of course) because while its default Threat scan is highly optimized for performance, when it's scanning other areas it tends to take a lot longer just because it loses that performance tuning which does seem to slow down its file analysis, at least based on my own observations with my own systems.

I should mention that Both times I cancelled the scan to uninstall some programs because I was afraid it would mess the scan up

i did use the support tool to uninstall and reinstall malwarebytes and I will run another custom scan next week to see if that that false positive will reappear
