exile360 Posted September 12, 2009 ID:125246 Share Posted September 12, 2009 You can find a list of schools here: http://www.uniteagainstmalware.com/schools.php . Any of them will teach malware removal. Just pick one and sign up for the training. You don't have to travel and it's free . You just have to do lots of research and reading. swagger Posted September 12, 2009 ID:125446 Share Posted September 12, 2009 Just a forewarning, it is a lot of hard work. I'm sure anyone who has been through the school can vouch, exile can vouch, and I can vouch. Unfortunately I was pruned out for inactivity -- I was studying for some real world certifications that were critical for my career path and just didn't have the time. The work is time consuming and tedious, but very rewarding!
chimpy Posted September 13, 2009 ID:126173 Share Posted September 13, 2009 Bleeping computer I notice also runs a class on malware removal and they go at your own pace, I have been considering it myself but right now I feel I know far too little about basic computer skills to be of much use. http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/topic86678.html

nosirrah Posted September 16, 2009 ID:127870 Share Posted September 16, 2009 If you can swing it you can increase the speed in which you learn this stuff with a dedicated PC ($250 low end PC is fine) , a second hard drive and a copy of any imaging software .With this setup you can recklessly test malware with absolutely no danger to your real machine and with no consequences if you get in over your head . swagger Posted September 16, 2009 ID:127875 Share Posted September 16, 2009 @nossirah,My hopes are to build a test machine in the near future with that same purpose and a few others (beta testing software) in mind. I kind of use my personal laptop as a beta tester now, but not as a malware observer.
