I have also just joined this forum to post my support.

I have used Malwarebytes for many years but am disgusted in their inability to sort the latest version out.  Its been plagued with Real Time Protection errors for over a year!

What pisses me off the most is I recently purchaced instead of downloading a hacked version off a torrent site.  Looks like that was a waste of money grrrrrrrrrrrrr

Database version V2017.5.19.04..

Seems to scan perfectly. i thought it would fall at the "check for updates" but blasted past it and is going on with a full scan..

interesting. so, from my limited research, the update definitions is a zip file with 2 executables inside, one is for mbam2 and one is for mbam3. so the mbam2 one is unaffected, apparently.

The fact that it has appeared for both 3.0.6 as well as 3.1.2 suggests it's not unique to 3.1.2.1733 build, but rather something in a malware update that got sent out to all version 3 systems.  It has NOT shown up for those still running version 2.2.

The Beta was buggy and made PC sluggish esp boot times and they simply released it the same for the final the next day after that final Beta build

I skipped it a few month till last week but its still as buggy and slows my boot down, without this installed its 4secs to boot.

Not a single V3 they have put out works for me. It always disables real time protection. No matter what options I turn on for scan options, in the logs it says they are off. It is to the point I have no confidence it is doing any protection or not. I have had a Lifetime License for a lot of years and been a big advocate of MB, but no longer. I have installed V 2, which runs as it should, except for the nag popup that wants me to upgrade to V3. No way I'm upgrading. How long have they been working on V3 and still can't make it even run? It's abot time to go back to something that works.

Buy a Lifetime copy and dont complain about a product that is far better than anything else on the market, its just 2 hiccups in 10 years, relax it will get fixed in a day.

Seems it. very odd. but it could be a temp fix till 3.x is fixed. least it's some protection

Just sent to an employee at GCHQ

Following the recent global attacks against various systems, all employees are advised to take the following precautions effective immediately, please note the current threat status is very high.

1 - Immediately log out of all work related email accounts

2 - Cleanse systems of all cookies

3 - Disable network adapters, all work related devices must remain offline until further notice, all clear will be sent via SMS

4 - DO NOT attempt to run anti malware scans, Malwarebytes, Kapersky, Win Def all compromised

5 - It is also strongly advised you do not log into any private online accounts including Google, Amazon, Yahoo, Ebay and any Bank or savings accounts until further notice.

Same problem here. Non premium users are not affected? (Haven't read every post in this 11 page thread)

Has anyone from Mbam replied in this thread yet?

Even if it is just to tell their customers they are aware of the problem and are working on it.

guys stop dl porn until ths is resolved

i figured id just line out what the mod said in the thread i posted, here it goes:

Quote

Hi everyone! If possible, can you please grab some information for us so we can look at what's going on?

  1. Open up Malwarebytes 3
  2. Go to Settings -> Application
  3. Turn on Event Log Data
  4. Restart the computer
  5. Open up Malwarebytes
  6. Verify that Web Protection is not turned on
  7. Attempt to turn on Web Protection
  8. Wait 2-3 minutes
  9. Zip up the folder C:\ProgramData\Malwarebytes\MBAMService\logs by right clicking the folder and choosing Send To -> Compressed (Zipped) folder
Note that the ProgramData folder may be hidden. You may need to turn on Showing Hidden Files, or type the path manually

Please upload the zip file that gets created (it should be on your desktop)

Now please run mb-check, which can be downloaded from here: https://downloads.malwarebytes.org/file/mb3_check. Run this program, which will create a file on your desktop named mb-checkResult.txt. Please upload this file as well.

And lastly, the FRST logs will help as well:

  1. Please download Farbar Recovery Scan Tool from here http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/download/farbar-recovery-scan-tool/ and save it to your desktop.
Note: You need to run the version compatible with your system.
**After you click the Download Now 64-bit, or the Download Now 32-bit, another page will open — DO NOT CLICK ANY ADDITIONAL 'download now' buttons, just wait and look toward the bottom of your browser for the option to Run or Save. Click Save.
  2. Double-click to run it. When the tool opens click Yes to the disclaimer.
Note: If you are prompted by Windows SmartScreen, click More info followed by Run anyway.
  3. Click the Scan button.
  4. When the scan has finished, it will save 2 logs  in the same directory the tool was run from.  Please attach the following logs:
    Addition.txt
    FRST.txt

I realize this is a lot of information to ask, but it should help us figure out what's going on. If you're able to help with the above instructions, there should be 4 files being uploaded. mb-checkResult.txt, FRST.txt, Additions.txt, zip file of logs folder

Sorry but I dissagree.  There more people complain and make it public the more the company maybe inclided to fix the problem.
