  1. Thank you for your helpful replies. Sorry about starting this thread in the Mac section by mistake. Also I bought a lifelong AdMuncher licence, in 2006. Then one day some years ago I got an email from them that they had felt guilty about making so much money on a product so necessary to people at the time, so that from now on it would be for free, and that the update list of new adds would continue as before. That's still the message on their site. But regardless whether the new adds list is updated or not -which I now hear for the first time about- I've been still using it mo
  2. PPS: For reasons unbeknownst to me the next time shortly after posting the above the popups did not appeared any more. Maybe because I deleted the AdMucher detecton from the quarantine list? I don't know. But there is gladness it's solved. 😀
  3. PS: That was with my Epic browser, but the same happens with Chrome.
  4. Hi, suddenly AdMuncher is causing the popup with this message to appear constantly: "Website blocked due to Trojan." -Blocked Website Details- Malicious Website: 1 , C:\Program Files (x86)\Ad Muncher\AdMunch.exe, Blocked, -1, -1, 0.0.0 -Website Data- Category: Trojan Domain: ne.epicbrowser.net IP Address: Port: 8888 Type: Outbound File: C:\Program Files (x86)\Ad Muncher\AdMunch.exe That is a false positive. I tried to add it to an allowed list in my Malwarebytes, but did not discover the way to do that. Any advise is welcome.
  5. I was having the same issue lately. Instead of seconds suddenly it took minutes to get my laptop to go in hibernation. Then just minutes ago I found out why. To measure the difference in time it would take to just shut my laptop down vs closing the lid to let it go into hibernation, a message appeared on my screen saying something like Windows was waiting for a program to shut down. And that it was MailWasher. (Which had updated recently.) So I changed a setting in my MailWasher (which was already set to not start up together with Windows) but now that it would no longer start minim
  6. Hi, I just did some scans using my email addresses on https://haveibeenpwned.com I recommend doing it. Including the email address you used for this forum. In my case t made me change my password.
  7. PPS: '" PUP.Optional.PCVARK is Malwarebytes’ detection name for a large family of installers for potentially unwanted programs targeting both Windows and Mac systems." https://blog.malwarebytes.com/detections/pup-optional-pcvark/
  8. PS: I solved it by removing 3.5.1 using the free version a well known uninstaller in after-scan mode to remove leftovers. But then I could only install 3.6.1 after a reboot. I did a scan after activation of my license, and it found this: Registry Key: 1 PUP.Optional.PCVARK, HKLM\SOFTWARE\V2luLVNwZWVkdXAtMjAxOA==, Quarantined, [423], [575410],1.0.7233 No idea what that might be. But at least we're back in business with the latest version of Malwarebytes3 for Windows. ❤️
  9. I hope I'm the only one with this issue, but no matter what I try, version 3.6.1 is not installing on my laptop. About 15 minutes ago a popup appeared that there was a new upgrade for my Malwarebytes (version 3.5.1) so I opened the dashboard and saw a message saying the new version was ready to be installed. So I tapped on the "Install now" > "Yes" button. But nothing happened. I tried a few times, and then downloaded it myself from the website. But that download of 3.6.1 won't install either. I can't remove the downloaded file either, as a message appears saying the file is opene
  10. As I expected later that day I rebooted my laptop, and it was automatically updated and the problem gone. Thank you.
  11. Besides a lifelong Malwarebytes Premium license, I also have a license for Emsisoft Ant-Malware. That one has two scan engines; one of their own -A2Squared- and Bitdefender. So now that at this moment of writing MBAM has a "protection off" issue, I keep surfing safely, as the mentioned second one also has surf protection Besides that I always surf in the virtual space -sandbox- of Sandboxie. This is how that works: https://www.sandboxie.com/index.php?HowItWorks But with 2 good Anti-Malware programs like the mentioned ones -which are compatible- that should be enough. Only one might n
  12. Great. It even removes stuff. And when it flags a false positive, you can let them know in the results via an option for that. Or you can choose to have it ignored next time.
