  1. Well -

Now I know why, when I tested it and reviewed it the results were so good.

I was just testing a program that I already had, even though I did this quite a while back.

People called it a PUP then, and wanted help to remove it, but I was able to install it twice, over several months, and just followed the given uninstall method at the time.

I'm tired of YAC downloading by itself

Yes, it is installed with other programs, never by itself unless you ask it (as always read the fine print), but their site was quite open about that at the time.

It had a very "active" heuristic type of method towards many programs, and this is most likely how you trapped them.

It did not impress me above M.S.E. and MBAM combined, but it just had a few more "bells and whistles"....... Like a smiley face now on MBAM.. :)

:welcome:  << This may have been better ?? Sorry I did not put it up earlier  ..

  2. so the default scan (critical point) is the recommended one's?

If you alter the scans (like others do to "custumized scan") , you may find settings will be changed for your next "regular scan".

The program just follows what you do, and you will need to reset back to "normal settings".

People often ask why the Rootkit section is altered after changing from default to a customized scan, and this is one of the reasons..

    Thank You ..

  3. Hello max_vader,

If you have now deleted the offending backdoor.bot and it has no longer shown in any scans, the chances are that you have removed it (via Malwarebytes Anti-Malware now).

But you should always read the results (as you do) of your scans just be sure the problems do not return.

We will be able to direct you to the Experts area if there is any return of these infections.

    Regards -

  4. Several of these have been in other posts, but I collected as many as I could find for the one topic ..

Some have simple answers, but these are the Whys.

    WHY .............

Why do supermarkets make the sick walk all the way to the back of the store to get their prescriptions, while "healthy" people can buy cigarettes at the front ?
Why do people order double cheeseburgers, large fries, and then a Diet Coke ?
Why do banks leave vault doors open, and then chain their pens to the counter ? (often stated)
Why do we leave cars worth thousands of dollars in our driveways, and put our useless junk in the garage ?
Ever wonder, Why the sun lightens our hair, but darkens our skin ?
Why can't women put on mascara with their eyes closed ?
Why don't we ever see the headline "Psychic Wins Lottery" ?
Why is 'abbreviated' such a long word ?
Why is it that doctors and lawyers call what they do 'practice' ?
Why is lemon juice made with artificial flavouring, and dish washing liquid made with real lemons ?
Why is the man who invests all your money called a broker ?
Why is the time of day with the slowest traffic called rush hour ?
    Why isn't there a mouse-flavoured cat food ?
Why didn't Noah swat those two mosquitoes ?
Why do they sterilize the needle for lethal injections ?
You know that indestructible black box that is used in airplanes ? Why don't they make the whole plane out of that stuff ??
Why don't sheep shrink when it rains ?
Why are they called apartments when they are all stuck together ?
If flying is so safe, why do they call the airport the terminal ?

If none of those tickled your fancy, there is always the tried and true old finale, ..........
Your God promised man good and obedient wives in all corners of the world - - - - - Then he made the world round and laughed and laughed .....

That is all I have for a while, so I need to gather another topic :) .

  5. Hello -

From what I see it is because you have selected Custom Scanning Options only.

If you do not select the settings for Custom Scanning, is this not a problem, or do you still have settings that change.

I find / found that with "routine settings" they are not altering, but others may have found other reasons for this change that I am not able to see.

My Rootkit setting is the same as usual, and has been set that way for some time now ...

    Thank You

  6. With the exception of a few stray entries, it has been removed and no longer runs anywhere.

    Hi

Just a minor extra, with earlier versions we did advise you to make sure you removed the program from Programs and Features.

But with the newer removal tool, this is not always required today, so 1PW has given you the latest removal methods...

    Thank You -

  7. 17 Advantages of being over 50 (or over 60)

    • Kidnappers are not very interested in you.
    • In a hostage situation, you are likely to be released first (or play dead and the kidnapper may not notice).

    • People call at 9 PM, and ask, "Did I wake you ?"

    • People no longer view you as a hypocondriac, (you most likely do have it).

    • There's nothing left to learn the hard way.

    • Things you buy now won't wear out.

    • You can live without sex (but not your glasses.).

    • You enjoy hearing about other peoples operations (it may be your next outing).

    • You have a party and the neighbours don't even realize it.

    • You no longer think of speed limits as a challenge.

    • You quit holding your stomach in, no matter who walks in the room.

    • You sing along with the elevator music.

    • Your investment in health insurance is finally beginning to pay off.

    • Your joints are more accurate than the National Weather Service.

    • Your secrets are safe with your friends, because they can't  remember them either.

    • Your supply of brain cells is finally down to a managable size.

    • Last - You are not sure if you can remember who actually posted this.

Thanks to my little sister for these few lines ................ (I think it was her, or I must have a girlfriend).

  8. The fact of the matter is, they all have their good and bad sides. Personal preference is what drives us to which one we finally settle on.

At least M/soft provided a browser so you could find Firefox, and Security programs like Malwarebytes Anti-Malware :)

  9. Hello and Welcome .

Those logs show that you are / have been infeted many times in the "week or so" that you have had the computer.

There are many links to minor infections, and there may be more if we look deeper.

  10. If you missed your Christmas Cracker jokes, or do not want to read them, here are a few ........

What do you call a crate of Ducks ?
    A box of quackers ....

What do you call a Penguin in the Sahara Desert ?
    Lost ......

How does Jack Frost get to work ?
    By-icicle .....

Why did the tomato blush ?
Because it saw the salad dressing ....

There are 2 squashed corpses on the main highway out of the capital city. One is a dead possum, the other is a polition.
    What's the difference ?
There are skid marks before the possum .........

As the golfer truged towards the 19th hole, he muttered "That was my worst game ever".
To which his caddy replied, "You mean you have played the game before ?"

Politions are like a bunch of bananas ........
They start off green, quickly turn yellow, and there's not a straight one in the whole bunch.

  11. (From a very quick search) -Threat Description : Exploit:Java/Agent
    Aliases:  Exploit:Java/Agent, Exploit.Java.Agent.F

  12. Three Tourists
    -------------------------

Three tourists were driving through Wales one morning.

As they were approaching Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch, they started arguing about the pronunciation of the town's name.

They argued back and forth until they stopped for lunch.

As they stood at the counter one asked the blonde employee,

"Before we order, could you please settle an argument for us?

Would you please pronounce where we are... very slowly?"

The girl leaned over the counter and slowly said, "Burrrrrr, gerrrrrr, Kiiiiiing."

  13. Sorry that the simple idea was not enough.

There now seems to be enough information to upgrade this for an Expert to assist you further.

  14. From Post #1 -

    C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Malwarebytes Anti-Malware

    - Malwarebytes Anti-Malware Notifications

    - Malwarebytes Anti-Malware

    - Uninstall Malwarebytes Anti-Malware

    C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Malwarebytes Anti-Malware\Tools

    - Malwarebytes Anti-Malware Chameleon

The first item is the main free program, and the second listed item is your Free Extra Tool as described, Chameleon << Here

I reinstalled it on a clean Windows 8.1, and this is 100% OK / Correct - Nothing at all to worry about -

    Thank You .........

  15. If you have purchased and activated the Premium version I can find both, as the Malwarebytes Anti-Malware Notifications refers to any infection detected.

This way you are "Notified" of a detection, while with the free version, you need to manually scan to find infections.

This is my reading on your question, as

    C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Malwarebytes Anti-Malware

    - Malwarebytes Anti-Malware Notifications

    - Malwarebytes Anti-Malware

    - Uninstall Malwarebytes Anti-Malware

    AND >

    C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Malwarebytes Anti-Malware\Tools

    - Malwarebytes Anti-Malware Chameleon

Are automatically installed since, Chameleon is the inbuilt version uses if you can only get to Safe Mode due to an infection, or other problem.

Please see this information on Chameleon that you get free as an extra.

    Thank You -
